North Korean propaganda photo of the Pueblo crew

A post by Maynard

I referenced this incident in an earlier post, but a picture is worth a thousand words. What you see above is a North Korean propaganda photo of American sailors taken after the USS Pueblo was captured in 1968. However, the North Koreans didn’t quite get the effect they intended, because the crew discreetly flashed the (as they explained it) Hawaiian good luck sign as the cameras clicked.

  1. St. Thor says:

But the members of the crew of the Pueblo were real sailors in a real navy backed by a real country. Not poorly trained members of a pseudo military of a third rate country whose politicians and citizens are too cowardly to react with anything lie a spine.

We’d probably have Chris Mathews on with Madeline Halfbright talking about how these guys have damaged international relations…

As a Celtic/AngloSaxonAmerican I understand the finger. I agree with the crew – Fu*k the Commies!
