April 27 – DHS announces grant $ available
April 29 – CAIR advises mosques to apply for $
May 1 – CAIR gets threatening letter

Tammy,

CAIR claims they received a threatening letter. They are advising Islamic “non-profit” groups to apply for grant money from DHS for security enhancements. This grant program will provide more than $24 million to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations who are deemed high-risk for a potential international terrorist attack. So CAIR wants DHS money for Islamic organizations to protect them from a potential international terrorist attack.

And you know the DHS will probably go for it.

Letter Threatens to ‘Terminate’ Detroit-Area Muslims

The Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI) today said it received a letter threatening Muslims in the Detroit area…It is important that law enforcement officials, elected representatives and community leaders take these kinds of threats seriously and act accordingly,” said Walid.

He also encouraged Islamic non-profit groups to apply for recently-announced DHS grants to receive training and to purchase equipment such as video cameras, alarm systems and other security enhancements. The grants are offered through the Urban Areas Security Initiative Nonprofit Security Grant Program.

Pretty suspicious timeline. Reminds me of the flying imams airport dilemma, where the aclu’s ambulance chasers curiously showed up, protest signs ready, even faster than the reporters/cameras could get there.

If they are concerned about security, its ok with me if they spend the DHS millions on airline tickets. They can all fly themselves back to the ME where they will be nice and safe.

I don’t find the timeing suspicious at all. The road of screaming discrimination, racism, and demanding apeasement has already been paved and well traveled. Laura Ingraham thought it funny that after 9/11 Muslim centers popped up all over the place. They will get there $ and it will have nothing to do with security. It would not surprise me if CAIR as ACLU advisors employed!
