As justice finds another mass-murdering Hussein regime beast.

Execution of ‘Chemical Ali’ approved

Iraq’s three-member Presidency Council has approved the execution of Ali Hassan Majid, a cousin of Saddam Hussein known as “Chemical Ali,” said a high-ranking Iraqi government official today who was not authorized to speak on the subject.

The official said there was no date set for the hanging, which must be carried out within 30 days. He also said the Presidency Council had agreed only to the execution of Majid, not two codefendants also convicted in June of genocide and other crimes…

Supporters of Majid and his codefendants had argued they were merely carrying out Hussein’s orders when they took part in the gassing of tens of thousands of Kurds in the 1980s.

While the places and the names may change, it’s interesting how the excuses of savages among us never change. Chemical Ali, as a reminder, is Saddam Hussein’s cousin and carried out the mass murder of 100,000 Kurds.

We have a moral obligation to help the people of the world find freedom and democracy. We have been given such a remarkable gift, to sit back and allow genocide and oppression to continue is tantamount to assisting it. For those who still argue (like certain presidential candidates) that going into Iraq was wrong, perhaps we should assign them to digging up some of those mass graves. Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton might find it especially enlightening to dig up the tens of thousands of women and children who were shot to death and then dumped into common graves.

Maybe that will help them get a clue.

Nah. Accepting empirical evidence is not the Left’s strong suit. If it were, there wouldn’t be a Left.

Good riddance to at least some bad rubbish.

I was 60/40 against the war to begin with. I suppose there are usually pros and cons, a balance between our goals and our feasible means and justifications. Once we are there, I agree that we need to succeed. I supported the troop surge, and would support more.

I am sick of Obama saying he was against going in. We all know that so well. As much as he says it does seem to undermine our troops. Really we won the war to overthrow Hussein. We need now to win the occupation, to establish a firm Iraqi government.

Do I think we can establish a republic or democracy? Unlikely, but a stable govt. of some sort may be attainable. We should strive for that as best we can. I want our troops to come home as well, but let’s get the job done. To do that may take an even greater surge.

Tammy, I don’t think we can reasonably be expected to right all the world’s wrongs and solve all incidences of hatred and oppression. That said, I respect and appreciate your point about the innocent victims in Iraq. Barack does not, to me, have a clue about running a national govt. or international relations. Hillary does, at lest a little, to me. Not because I agree with all, or most of her policies, but she may be slightly more reasonable. Then again…

I wish Israel would start stringing up Palestinian terrorists.

I promised my wife I would stop doing this (posting comments on american blogs) but seriously, seeings as you are not going to publish it, or possibly even read it, what the fuck…
but seriously, “to sit back and allow genocide and oppression to continue is tantamount to assisting it” how do you fucking live with yourself? really. can you please, PLEASE, tell me in what other instances you are advocating that your government intervene in the affairs of a sovereign nation in order to prevent genocide/oppression? Please?
Hey, edit out the profanity of this comment, email me in private, whatever you want to do, but answer the goddamn question.

    Hello David,

And no, I won’t edit out the obscenities in your comment because it exposes your intellectual laziness, as does your apparent cluelessness about what other regimes the free and civilized world should intervene in. And yes, all of them are “sovereign” nations. Intervention and pressure can be taken in a variety of ways–militarily among them. So, to enlighten you, let’s start with a short list:

    Sudan
    Iran
    North Korea
    Saudi Arabia

Feel smarter now? Oh, by the way, you’re banned. One has to show at least a tiny inkling of a thought process to contribute here. Perhaps your time is best spent putting another shrimp on the barbee as America does the heavy lifting.

Tammy, give David a little credit, most Leftists are afraid to attach their whole names to that kind of venom.

As for the abuses of Saddam’s regime, Sgt. Marco Martinez, USMC, does cover in his autobiography the human experimention that he saw documented at a Special Republican Guard Barracks. It included injecting needles into the abdomens of pregnant women, and experimentation on newborns and infants. He likened it to the experimentation done by the Third Reich. Thankfully, he does spare us most of the graphic details of what he saw.
