While Newsbusters uses the spiral staircase analogy, I much prefer to analogy of managing to describe World War II without mentioning Nazis. Gotta really go out of your way to do that. Look, until we admit where this worldwide scourge is based, and address the barbarism that naturally leads to terrorism, none of this is going to stop.

CNN Avoids Mentioning Islam in Segment on ‘Honor Killings’

Quite a feat: CNN has pulled off the MSM equivalent of describing a spiral staircase without using one’s hands. It has managed to produce a segment on “honor killings” and related violence in the UK . . . without using the word “Muslim” or “Islam.” CNN Newsroom anchor Don Lemon introduced the segment this afternoon at 1:37 PM EDT.

DON LEMON: Women forced into marriages, or killed for having the wrong boyfriend. So-called “honor crimes” are often committed by fathers or brothers when daughters do something that supposedly brings shame on the family. It’s on the rise in Britain, and authorities, they are very worried about it. Our Paula Newton reports.

This would make a great parody piece for the Colbert Report if they had the guts to do it. Show a bunch of pastey white Brits walking on London streets, and ask why the British are engaging in this bararous practice. Go to traditional British girls schools and intrerview the little girls about honor and pleasing ones’ parents with good grades and obedience. Combine it with CNN clips and leave the impression that it is purely a U.K. phenomenon, having no religous or ethnic component.

I think they’re talking about the Methodists, aren’t they? Then again, I’ve always thought those Buddhists have a lot of pent up hostility, maybe it’s the Buddhists.

Now Tammy, fair is fair. After all, I am sure CNN never mentioned that various child-abusing priests were Catholic, or that Ted Haggard was an evangelical Christian. If they mentioned Islam in this story, it might imply that the problem only existed in the Muslim community. That of course is not true. I have a co-worker who is a devout Druid. He often has to punish his daughter for eating with chopsticks or using a toothpick. Seriously though, Marleed is probably correct; any Wesleyan will tell you that you just can’t trust those Methodists.

Gee, it must be all those Quakers who are suddenly offing their daughters and wives because they caused ‘dishonor’ to their husbands, brothers and uncles?
As Daniel Pipes says, if you don’t identify the cause you can’t solve the problem.
We know which group is doing it despite the media’s attempt to cover it up. Indeed this is the same libtard mindset that thought it could coverup the Edwards’ adulterous affair and the offspring who came from it.

When I heard CNN would be doing a story on honor killings, I thought: finally they are becoming a real news agency. When I saw this piece on the blog, I just started laughing. That the mainstream press is so openly biased and pathetic is so utterly unbelievable that it evokes cartoon. (I waited and waited for the mainstream media to report on Edwards. I rarely watch Leno, but did catch him the night of Edwards confession when he commented: Since the National Enquirer was the ONLY news agency to report on the Edwards affair – this must mean Elvis REALLY IS alive!) A “news report” on honor killings is like writing a news report about fish without mentioning water. I am not even sure why they even bothered with trying to report a story on honor killings if they were so obviously conflicted about the topic.
