American Airlines is charging our war-bound troops extra baggage fees. In addition to telling them to stop that practice (and to not charge the soldiers or the military!), until there is a change in policy you will not fly them. Also check any stock holdings you have and tell them you will divest from American Airlines if they do not reverse their policy.

The American Airlines story has been distorted by the MSM as usual. If you check American’s Website http://tinyurl.com/67a2bx Military Personnel on active duty are exempt from the fees that normal passengers pay. The only time they are charged is when they are bringing beyond excess baggage. Excess baggage means more weight which means they may need to take bump passengers from the flight. Bumping passengers means lost revenue and when you’re losing billions a year, you need to nickel and dime. Especially when the person you’re charging will get reimbursed. The military asking the airlines to waive the fee for more than 3 bags is asking the airlines for an additional discount off of the cheap fare the military contracted.
Airplanes are not cars. You can not just fill them to the brim and expect them to fly.

Some of us are wide awake. Not enough, sadly.
But I think that may finally be changing, even if at a glacial pace. Just as an anecdotal example, both my parents are died-in-the-wool Dems (appalled at my conservatism of course). Yet I’d say it’s more likely than not that at least one of them will vote for McCain, which I suspect at least for my mom would be the first time she’s ever voted for a Republican for anything, ever. Not that such votes will count for much in Massachusetts, but hey, it’s a start.
