Please watch this 2-minute video to the end. It’s a touching 9/11 reminder that freedom comes at a price. So many of us have had a free ride that it’s easy to forget the sacrifices others have made.

I can’t help it. I cry when ever I am caught unaware by messages like that.

I am so grateful to be in America no matter it’s problem and how often we falter when trying to live up to our high ideals.

Isn’t it amazing that today 9/11 was to be without campaigning. The two sides put that aside to honor the heros of 9/11. Yeah right. Barry was with Bill Jeff in downtown Harlem doing photo ops with the Media. Wow, that Barry is a real upstanding guy. Don’t you think?

Woo-rah!! you go guy! what a profound statement when you said “Sen Obama, sir” – always the respectful, always the military, always the defender of us all!!!

    We love you.

My “little” brother is on his THIRD tour in Iraq since 9/11, and this time training new soldiers. He left this time only 7 days after his new baby girl was born (at Ft. Hood), and he has missed out on so much of what most of us would call ‘real life’. But he has a bigger purpose, and this sounds just like words I’d hear coming from his mouth at any moment, though he may not be as calm about it. This was a beautiful testament to those like him and I appreciated it more than you could ever imagine. Thank you so much for sharing this.

That was the best video I have seen in a long time. The soldier’s thought and view is very impacting. Tears came down my face, with respect and pride for our country and those who serve it knowing a greater cause. God Bless that man and all who serve.

    Holly crow Maynard,
I was just swallowing the last of my beer when I saw the leg! After 5 minutes of coughing & sputtering I bet I bawled like a baby for another 5.
I did a little research on this add. It was not put out or supported in any way by McCain, just a guy who gave damn near everything for my right to sit here like a lump bitching about my tax rate.

Very humbling, thanks for the wakeup call.

A few friends and I wrote some thoughts from the heart about 9/11.

I saw this a couple of days ago, and was VERY moved!

This young man has just illustrated the true nature of Obama: a self-absorbed, power hungry coward.

Yes, we should always be mindful of the price of freedom and appreciate those who are asked to make extraordinary sacrifices on behalf of the rest of us. The contempt the Left shows the military is deplorable. I must say, however, it rankles me the way some on the Right regard the military. For too many there’s a strange fascination with brass bands, flags, guts and glory. There’s a world of difference between honoring the military and idealizing war.

This man–brave and proud—deserves our respect as do his comrades. He is a human being not a monster or programmed robot. He was willing to make a sacrifice and he has. It is the responsibility of his fellow countrymen to support him and all the others in every way. Pay him well, house him decently, tend to his wounds with top notch medical care. It is the responsibility of leaders to give them all they need to win the battles that must be fought and stay with them until the battles are won.

Gee whiz, thanks for making me cry. I was fine until he walked away. Shoot, cry nothing. I’m sobbing while I’m writing this.

Every 9/11 I cry. It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve seen the same news reports and documentaries over and over again. How many times I see/hear the names read, watch the family members sob openly (children and adults alike). Every 9/11 reminds me why we do what we do.

It may not be the “best foreign policy”, but my thought is, if you want to f!@# with us, then we absolutely, positively will f!@# you right back, not because we can (because we can do more, way more than we’ve done already and we don’t which speaks to our morality), but because we MUST. Because freedom is not free. Never was and never will be.

And so I join that young man, as a wife of an Army Captain preparing for his 2nd tour of duty in Iraq, in supporting McCain-Palin in 2008.
