This past week brought some good news about the continued collapse of the MSM/Democrat Propagandists front. The New York Times and the Washington Post both announced more layoffs and cutbacks.

Mickey Kaus , in the meantime, doesn’t hold back on another part of the newspaper problem. In Vultures Wanted: Time to Feast on the LAT’s dying carcass! he makes his feelings known about what Los Angeles needs in a newspaper and how the Los Angeles Times has failed.

Speaking of which, a number of your have already sent me copies of the responses you sent into the LA Times today re their blogger deciding it was time to join in and distort my comments about the Obamas earlier in the week. I’ll address that directly next week, but I wanted you all to know I really appreciate you chiming in during a Gestapo/Thought Police situation like this. Here’s one response a Tammy reader sent into the LA Times:

Note to Elizabeth Snead [the L.A. Times blogger] With all your journalistic integrity (…), you ask ‘who the heck is Tammy Bruce?’ Perhaps you should have conducted proper research before disgracing yourself and your medium to an entire audience.

You have grossly mischaracterized Ms. Bruce’s comments. I am more appalled with your feigned outrage and willingness to create an enemy where none is warranted than anything Ms. Bruce said. In fact, I am in total agreement with Ms. Bruce. People who are manipulative, use others for their own agendas and patronize others are indeed trash. You would have better served yourself and your readers to realize the full context of Ms. Bruce’s words.

Furthermore, to imply ‘racism’ in your article says more about YOU and your line of thought than anything Ms. Bruce said. For the deranged commenter, Tiye, saying charges should be brought against Ms. Bruce – then apparently, you do not believe in free speech, my dear. Apparently, you would rather silence dialogue than actually listen to what Ms. Bruce said. I will bet, Tiye, that you did not listen to Laura Ingraham’s show, did you? I’ll even bet that you just picked up this article and took it as truth; therefore, you are more dangerous than anything said by Tammy.

Tell me, Ms. Snead, Tiye and anyone else going off the deep left end: Were you this critical when Bush was compared to Hitler? Were you as outraged when Sarah Palin was compared to trash also and even the tv show ‘Roseanne’?

Just so you won’t appear hypocritical: are you now outraged at Sen. Barney Frank for calling a Supreme Court justice a ‘homophobe’, or how about Sen. Reid accusing Justice Roberts of ‘lying’ when Reid himself has built an entire career around such? I will bet stimulus money that Ms. Snead will not take Senators Frank and Reid to task. It might require too much independent thought.

As a proud lesbian, prolife feminist and yes, a conservative, I support Ms. Bruce and her description of the Obamas behavior. Perhaps that description can also be applied to the behavior by some commenting on this article and by the article’s author herself.

    Who is Elizabeth Snead?

[That’s the L.A. Times blogger. I’ve added that to the segment. Click thru the link, it becomes clear. Thanks. Jim, Tammy webmaster.]

I meant it more a little more… snarkily…. in response to what she wrote 😉 Maybe I should have said, “Who the heck is Elizabth Snead?”

[Oops, sometimes I forget Tammy readers can be as snarky as she 🙂 Thanks, Jim.]

  3. LongviewCyclist says:

Damn, that was a great response (to the L.A. Times crap). That lady was spot on.

That was a great response, very well stated. She’s pro-life Tammy -maybe we can get you to come around on that one yet :)…

I think an interesting dynamic is why conservative talk radio and opinion television dominate so much. I’ve read the Pew Research on this, and it certainly follows that specific cable networks attract specific audiences. The effect of conservative domination of a few stations does not necessarily convey a predictable result, as we unfortunately realized:
    1. At the same time, eg., that Fox dominated the ratings, democrats completely dominated the 2006 and 2008 elections. Conservative-leaning outlets had, far and away, the greated viewership, but little impact.
    2. Conversely, liberal lunatics like Al Franken tanked. In my mind, this is indicative of a refined audience who are more than capable of parsing through the partisan rants. People like Maher and Stewart have their follwing, but their opinion is vested in sarcasm and humor, not necessarily hard-hitting timely commentary.

I think what happened in the elections is the full weight of the leftwing media bias in this country, from the NY Times to MSNBC, gang-raped Sarah Palin, and eviscerated George W. Bush and John McCain, both moderates, at precisely the time when this country’s Republicans should have united behind their solid conservative principles. It didn’t happen, and they divided and conquered, playing to a populace exasperated by the war and scared spitless about the economy.

I am still not seeing our party uniting, and much as I hoped Michael Steele was the right guy for the job, he just isn’t getting it done. More importantly, never has campaign finance reform been more important to the core values upon which this country was founded. Just look at the Arab contributions to the Obama campaign, and the growing affect of entities like ACORN. $150 million in a month? Are we that naive, when even Hillary’s war chest couldnt’ surpass $30 million a month?

The only bad thing about the response is the accidental promotion of Barney Frank to Senator. Hopefully even my own beloved but insane native state of Massachusetts isn’t quite demented enough to trade even further down when Ted Kennedy dies.

  6. girlsgotrhythm says:

I LOVED that comment! AG is sharp as a tack!

  7. RobK says:

I second that! The Obama’s are the most UNCOUTH and IGNORANT people to ever occupy our great White House. Plus, BHO is a DICTATOR. Did you get that Ms. Snead? A DICTATOR! I’m beginning to feel Mr. Obama hates anyone but himself. That’s called Narcissism. How funny American is beginning to hate the man and I am sure he is haunted by the ghosts of great Presidents like Ronald Reagan, Teddy Roosevelt and others. Too, the LA Times graces the toilet paper dispensers of every Public restroom, whereas my new paper, the Washington Times, graces my mantle. Kiss My A**.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-1RHXW-DPw&feature=related …and someone is worried about Tammy? Well yes because she has a real audience and isn’t afraid of the truth. We (Conservatives) have allowed the weak kneed Republicans to define us for too long. No More!! It’s time to take up the fight ourselfs and bring the truth directly to the people. Tammy, Laura, Michelle and Ann Coulter are leading the way and are effective. Follows that the Left, be it from the print,
electronic or the cyberworld, will feel threatend.
Can’t stand on the truth if its not on your side.
You “chicks” keep it up ,your doing fine.

  9. JaxCat says:

Sharp, pointed letter in the heart of the LAT||! This paper has been on the down spiral since they jumped in the tank for Gray Davis.

It is too bad that such a letter written by anyone but a lesbian feminist would have been ignored by the MSM. Fortunately, in the days of politically correct stereotyping, there are lesbian feminists to speak truth to power and strike the death blow to these liars.

  10. Shawmut says:

If that letter doesn’t shake loose some of the gay and lesbian tongues, what will?
I bet the writer considers herself just one us pedestrians, but her words are dynamic for this very moment.
    How shall I regard her?
Maybe a “lead fist in a velvet glove”.
    “Ya gotta luv er!”

  11. Ripper says:

Which is worse – the LA Times or the SF Chronicle?

  12. F. Bastiat says:

    nice smackdown!

  13. Tempus Fugit says:

The liberal papers that are tanking are ripe for a take-over by someone who doesn’t run it as a left-wing cheerleading squad.

With so many conservatives and capitalist enterprises under attack by this marxist administration, you’d think some of them might have the sense to invest a few bucks in a major newspaper or two and start defending themselves. It’s not just good business, it’s a question of outright survival at this point.
