Let’s hope they heard the point about registration prices. If so, this could be a lot of fun. 🙂 Would you go if the price was right?

Second Tea Party Convention Planned for Vegas in July

Fresh off a convention just a few weeks ago, Tea Party organizers on Wednesday announced another national convention, and this time they’re going to invade Las Vegas from July 15-17 with their message of lower taxes and smaller government. Organizers are making a point of the location, too — taking a jab at recent comments President Obama made about Las Vegas.

“President Obama told Americans not to go to Las Vegas so that is exactly where Tea Party Nation will be holding our next event!” the group said in a statement…

There are a couple of ways this convention is expected to be different than the first one. “The one in Nashville was limited in scope, it was geared for leaders of Tea Party groups,” Phillips said. “This one opens up much more … we are trying to set up some seminars and panel for people who want to be involved in local Tea Party groups… but don’t necessarily want to be a leader of a group.”

Another thing that makes this convention different is they are adding a “Tea Party Nation Conservative Film Festival.”

Oh, I’m a-thinkin’ this is a MUST! I am so there! In fact, I’m going to encourage the Tucson Tea Party to make this one of our events – this would be fantastic!

A second Convention so soon??? Seems a little “quick” unless they want to have one closer to the “left” coast, which isn’t a bad idea. Would like to make this trip if the agenda seems constructive and the cost is more reasonable. Never been to Vegas – everyone should probably see “tacky” town once in their lives ; ) .

Yes, Palin2012, I was talking to Judson the evening before the last day of the Nashville Convention about wanting to host one here in Omaha, and laid out the reasons for him. He told me that they already had the July event planned, and wanted it to be west. They hadn’t chosen a venue yet. But what he wants to do it have the conventions all over the country, because that’s what the movement is about–and it should go to where the people are so more are able to attend. CPAC is always in D.C. and Judson said, “The last place I want to go to is D.C.” Can’t say I blame him. CPAC comes off to me as a bit elitist anyway, since it’s so full of big established lobby PACs and serving Senators and Reps.

I want to have one here in Omaha because: 1) it’s centrally located in the country, 2) the airport is 5 minutes from the convention center 3) downtown is right there too, and there are great bars and restaurants 4) the convention center and attached hotel are great facilities, and the staffs are excellent. and Omaha is just a nice town with good people who like to boo Ben Nelson when he walks into his favorite pizza place…..

This is a great idea especially after the Mayor snubbed the messiah….and Vegas can be a great vacation and to add the Tea Party to a great vacation? A blast…I will probably be there…however; those of us who live close enough to drive down there occasionally usually never pick July or August for a Vegas vacation. Remember Clark Griswald and Eddie cooking the chicken on the rocks? Not all that far from the truth…..

Oh yeah, indeed this one is a must! It’s hot over here in July, but unless they schedule something outside (which I doubt), it shouldn’t be a problem. Plus we need the revenue. Today I learned that with Urkel’s visit, since they had to implement airspace restrictions, tours to Grand Canyon had to be suspended, costing tour operators up to $750,000. Thank you Urkel.

Tammy, you should come and do your show from here. It would be fun!

I would totally go to this. I’ve never been to Vegas, but I like their mayor!

If it’s not too expensive, hell yes I’ll go! I live here in Vegas, I’d be crazy not to go if it’s affordable. I love the aspect of having a Tea Party convention here for two reasons: 1) It’s a slap in the face to Obama, and 2) it will be good for our local economy. We need all the help we can get. Just recently, the Ritz Carlton at Lake Las Vegas announced it will close in May. About a week later, the Montelago Casino next store announced it will be closing in March. Thanks a lot, Urkel!!!

Oh, I’m so there! Plus, I won’t have to pay to stay – my in-laws just moved to the area! Whoopee!
