An absolutely horrific plane crash has taken the lives the Poland’s president Lech Kaczynski, their First lady Maria Kaczyńska and some of that country’s highest military and civilian leaders. The world owes a debt of gratitude to Poland. Not only have they always been a remarkable people, but in the Battle of Vienna in 1683 it was Poland’s King Sobieski who pushed back the marauding Islamic hoards who were besieging Vienna. The Polish success at Vienna stopped the Islamists who otherwise would have likely taken the whole of Europe, ending civilization as we know it.

Please send your prayers and thoughts to the people of Poland for an absolutely astounding loss of so many of their leaders.

Polish leader, 96 others dead in Russia jet crash

Polish President Lech Kaczynski and some of the country’s highest military and civilian leaders died on Saturday when the presidential plane crashed as it came in for a landing in thick fog in western Russia, killing 97, officials said.

Russian and Polish officials said there were no survivors on the 26-year-old Tupolev, which was taking the president, his wife and staff to events marking the 70th anniversary of the massacre in Katyn forest of thousands of Polish officers by Soviet secret police.

The crash devastated the upper echelons of Poland’s political and military establishments. On board were the army chief of staff, the navy chief commander, and heads of the air and land forces. Also killed were the national bank president, deputy foreign minister, army chaplain, head of the National Security Office, deputy parliament speaker, Olympic Committee head, civil rights commissioner and at least two presidential aides and three lawmakers, the Polish foreign ministry said.

Although initial signs pointed to an accident with no indication of foul play, the death of a Polish president and much of the Polish state and defense establishment in Russia en route to commemorating one of the saddest events in Poland’s long, complicated history with Russia, was laden with tragic irony…Some of the people on board were relatives of those slain in the Katyn massacre. Also among the victims was Anna Walentynowicz, whose firing in August 1980 from the Lenin Shipyards in Gdansk sparked a workers’ strike that spurred the eventual creation of the Solidarity freedom movement. She went on to be a prominent member.

“This is a great tragedy, a great shock to us all,” former president and Solidarity leader Lech Walesa said.

  2. franknitti says:

Putin will show up at the funeral just to piss on Kaczynski’s grave if Joe Biden doesn’t get there first. I agree with jondavid. I don’t think this plane crash was an accident. I think the Russians were responsible and I think they want to re-establish their Iron Curtain in Eastern Europe.

As for the Dr. Utopia at the very least … Weak so Ivan acted … the worst … Current Polish Govt. in way … Let’s not forget what Dr. Utopia did back in August … Dropped the missile defense for Poland … on the anniversary Soviet invasion of Poland in 1939… Done on purpose… Send a message … Poles were still defiant … So connect the DOTS … Either way … USA in DEEP Danger from not only Dr. Utopia but the Radical LEFT Running Washington…

I’m glad we are all on the same page that Russia caused this, because when I heard that a plane carrying Poland’s President crashed in RUSSIA, I immediately knew that it was Russia’s “work.”

  6. larrygeary says:

Didn’t the Czech Republic sign some kind of treaty with Russia recently, now that the US is abandoning its allies in Eastern Europe? They were part of the missile defense system Urkel canceled, too.

    • cpnolto says:

Did you notice that Vaclav Havel wasn’t invited to witness Urkel signing the treaty with Medvedev (Medved is Bear in Russian so I’ll just call him Smokey!)

If he goes to South Africa will he snub Nelson Mandela too?

What a jerk this guy is.

I KNEW I could come to the TAM page for sanity & reality check. I thought exactly the same when I first heard the news; then I was like – “no, stop being such a conspirator…” and put it out of my head. Is that “conditioning” on my end? Forcing myself to think something else than my original gut feeling but then feeling ashamed of myself for doing so; then looking the other way. Oh my God you guys. Have I been conditioned and don’t even know? Can a TAM provide som pshyco-analysis here? Did others feel the same way?

    • BarbaraM says:

Feel the same way, CO2…I smell a rat.

    • sandyl says:

CO2, I used to think these strange things, and then doubt myself, but I have since gotten over it. Now I am a full-blown conspiracy nut, and I never doubt myself with this regime in power.

Unfortunately, in the last 2 years, we have learned that fact is stranger than fiction, and I’m afraid fiction has become fact. Always trust your spider senses!

As an American of Polish descent, my thoughts and prayers are with the Polish people at this time. How horrifically tragic!

As for conspiracies, I also was suspicious. Right now, though, it looks like it was bad weather and the Russian traffic control told the pilot not to attempt the landing. He did so anyway.

Trust me, I don’t trust Russia farther than I can throw her (for obvious reasons), but I’ll wait before I pass a final judgment on the cause.

May they rest in peace and Go with God.

It will be interesting to see what the black box has to reveal. Just seems too many coincidences to me. Praying for the country…

    • jondavid says:

Black box … Your joking … Again … More than just about Poland … The Russians smell blood …our blood … Get it …

      • CO2aintpoison says:

Oh I get it all right. It’s not just the Russians. Iran. Korea. China. The pit-dwelling-murder-mokeys (extremist islamic-freaks). And I’m sure a host of others have been smelling American blood for…oh, about a year and a half since the apology tour began and barry began stripping us of our defenses. That said, it will be interesting nonetheless – – after all Russia is “assisting” with the investigation. What could possibly go wrong?

  10. Tinker says:

The leopard hasn’t changed it’s spots … Poland … Kyrgyzstan … South America. Russia is quietly on the march.
And Putin to personally head up the investigation? Yeah, what could go wrong?

I don’t believe one single word that comes out of Russia, no not one.
