**Bumped Up: With the tyrants in Iran blinking today, “Iran cancels plan to send ship to Gaza,” I thought it appropriate to bump up this video post from back in February. **

As Jew-hating tyrants meet freely in the Middle East and speak of the ‘annihilation of Israel,’ here’s a video which reminds us why Israel exists, and who she is today. It’s time for our generation to pledge Never Forget, but also Never Again.

This video brought tears to my eyes. The entire history of the world would be much different (and far more bleak) if not for the sacrifices and contributions of the Jews. These amazing people have literally survived Hell on Earth and continue to thrive and serve as a model of strength, perserverance and faith for the whole world to see.

I am reminded of this passage in the old testament, Ezekiel 37:24-28: ” ‘My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd. They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees. They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your fathers lived. They and their children and their children’s children will live there forever, and David my servant will be their prince forever. I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will put my sanctuary among them forever. My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people. Then the nations will know that I the LORD make Israel holy, when my sanctuary is among them forever.’ ”

The Book of Ezekiel was written as prophecy. In order for Ezekiel 38 & 39 to occur (which speaks of a coming Russian-Arab invasion of Israel according to Bible scholars), Israel had to be returned to the Jews which was done in 1948 thanks to a long-standing covenant between God and Abraham. Israel was also made possible because of The United States (another divine creation!). We have been a very blessed nation for many reasons, but one of the most important is due to our friendship with Israel. Israel, in return, has always been a loyal friend even when we have asked her to give up space for the false hope of peace with tyrants intent on destroying her.

I have been re-reading ‘History of the Jews’ by the brilliant British historian, Paul Johnson (who also happens to love Sarah Palin). I highly recommend it to all the TAMS! Johnson’s writing is so thorough and beautifully engaging that one cannot help being in even more awe of the Jewish people and the rich history they documented through a divine calling; a history left not only as evidence of a covenant between God and Abraham thousands of years ago, but also as a gift of love to all who would walk on this earth.

I agree, Tammy – God bless Israel, and may she live forever.

I have always respected Israel for their courage. When someone makes the argument that Israel is the aggressor and persecutor against the Arabs/Muslims/Palestinians I always ask this question.
“What would happen if tomorrow the Arab world said they were laying down their weapons and they would not attack Israel again? There would be peace. What would happen if tomorrow Israel said the were laying down their weapons and would not fight back? There would be slaughter!”

I don’t believe there will ever be peace for Israel and the Middle East as long as the Islamic world continue to take the Koran literally. There are to many crazies who believe in Islam to ever let this happen.

  3. paboki says:

Imperial History of the Middle East to go along with the video above. Next time anyone mentions the Crusaders and the Empires.

  4. larrygeary says:

It’s too bad the last Israeli leader with balls was Golda Meir.

Israel is a victim of the post WW2 policy of stopping wars before their natural conclusion in victory for one side and defeat for the other. There will never be peace until Israel reclaims the West Bank and Gaza, and expels the West Bank Arabs to Jordan and the Gazan Arabs to the far side of the Suez Canal. They should retake the Sinai as a buffer zone while they’re at it. Honestly, Israel has been too nice and too accommodating. The Arabs do not want peace, never have wanted peace, and perhaps never will. The only solution is separation, with demilitarized buffer zones to keep the Arabs away. As for Iran, Syria and Lebanon, Israel will have to teach them all a very painful lesson that they will never forget – if they survive at all. That may happen fairly soon.

Tammy: Thanks so much for posting this video. A beautiful summary of the history of Israel. (and thanks to TammyChicago too!)
Btw, the “Al Dura hoax” refers to the picture of the man and boy, cowering in fear. That picture went viral in the Muslim world, as “proof” of Israeli violence against innocent Muslims. But the picture was really of an Israeli man and his son, who took cover during a terrorist attack.

  6. Foreverautumn says:

I look on this video, and I get angry just like when I look at the Sept 11 tributes. I wonder: what has the Muslim world given us, other than Algebra and our current numbering system? It seems like their very culture has stagnated. But on the other hand, they can build nuclear reactors and nuclear weapons, can’t they? The world bellyaches that the Arab world is poor, doesn’t have many resources (other than a buttload of oil, anyway), and yet they can give financial assistance to suicide bombers’ families, and they can afford AK-47s, RPGs, Kartusha rockets, and God knows what else.

And yet, what do we do about this? Pulling out of the UN sounds like a good idea. Voting for Conservatives and not for ANY incumbents, and certainly not that fool with the messiah complex Obama.

There. I’ve ranted enough. I can only pray now that my RINO hunting expedition in August is successful.

  7. lord-ruler says:

And every nation which shall war against thee, O house of Israel, shall be turned one against another, and they shall fall into the pit which they digged to ensnare the people of the Lord. And all that fight against Zion shall be destroyed

  8. TammyChicago says:

Tammy- thanks so much for posting this! I’m thrilled that the video is
    getting attention.

Lisa- you are as eloquent as ever 🙂

  9. Southrider says:

    Tammy,

I once felt a degree of solidarity with Israel.

Visited the place, liked the people.

    Meanwhile, among other things,
I researched some about the USS Liberty.
    Then Pollard.
Then the rather astonishing story of their ability to manipulate our wiretaps in the US in advance of 9/11 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ihsqz_KgK4 (watch all 4 segments). That report left open the question – not did Mossad know about 9/11 in advance ‘but how could they not have known’ (given the apparatus described in the reports).
Then saw them provide our most likely opponent with the product of a joint US/Israeli fighter program the LAVI/J-10.

It left me to wonder, did Mossad know there were no Iraqi WMDs before we invaded – and didn’t advise Bush of the truth- or are they no better than us at intel in the middle east (a seemingly unlikely proposition).

However emotional their story is, US citizens must be level headed about policy decision and assess US interests independent of what’s in it for Israel. Israel is a nuclear armed country (not our choice) that is in a fight for it’s survival (not our fault).

They demonstrably will trade our survival in exchange for the continuance of their control of their ‘holy land’.

That simply is the way things are . I have no affinity for their neighbors either.

I hope for peace to all of ’em – but don’t want to write another US taxpayer check in either case.

With energy independence will come an ability to be less engaged in the drama.

There were wmd, Sadam had them moved to Syria before the Americans got there. Syria has them and intends to use them against Israel. Speaking of Ezekiel 38 & 39, I believe the destruction of Damascus will happen before the invasion of Russia and the Arab nations.

  10. makeshifty says:

The video reminded me of an interview with Dr. Wafa Sultan on Al Jazeera several years ago. She said much the same thing. I am not an atheist like she is, but I found her words very inspirational, because she was speaking the truth right in their faces. A part of the interview that I remember, but it was cut out in the clip I refer to here, is she said that if the Muslim Middle East wants respect they need to earn it. I think she followed that with the contributions of jewish scientists, which is in the clip, to serve as an example of what they should do to earn it. Even though, apparently, the Muslims on the show rejected what she said, the Middle East needs to hear this again and again until they get it.

  11. Quietwolf says:

The truth is since the partitioning of Palestine in 1948 every arab country in the region has threatened to push the jews into the sea and then launched several wars of extermination for the next 40+ years to do just that. If the arab governments were so interested in helping the Palestinians why didn’t Jordan give them the west bank which they controled for 30 yrs, or Egypt hand over Gaza when they had control of it and the entire Sinai? The Palistian problem was only and will only remain a problem as long as Israel exists. What couldn’t be taken by force of arms is being stolen by public opinion and weak or flat out anti-semite US presidents like Carter and Obama. Obama & Co.,are doing the same thing Chamberlain and Vidkun Quisling, did in WWII. Appeasement is not the way to deal with the thug’s of the world. Had Obama, taken history lessons rather then learning new ways to “organize the community” in college, he would have learned this. Personally, I do not place the entire blame on him as much… as I do the successful takeover of our education system by the Socialist Liberal’s that produced him. I do not care if 30,000 or 30,000,000 people like us or dislike us. Turning our backs on our allies based on opinion polls does not change the fact that it is dishonorable and despicable. As Edmond Burke, said ” All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing”. I would hate for the US to become a nation ruled by foreign opinion, we need to stand by OUR beliefs as our founding fathers did rather then kowtow to kings or now the all mighty pollsters. I believe that there are groups in this country that wish only to weaken and destroy it and they have been here for quite awhile. They willingly support ANY outside faction that shows a chance of harming us. They are the same people who used to feel the communists could do no wrong and that our allies like the Shah of Iran, ROC (Republic of China) now Taiwan, Marcos of the Philippines and now Israel staunch anti-communist’s and strong allies, could do no good. How long before Japan should they ever lose their “victim” status and develop more than a defensive force be next? When communists were made irrelevant for a time by Ronald Reagan, the scramble was on to find and support a new agent of our destruction and radical Islam will make a good distraction until the Chinese communists can become strong enough to pose a credible threat. I am not jewish but have been admiring them since I first read Exodus a novel by Leon Uris, and The Source by James Michener back in the late ’60’s. These led me to a deep interest in Israel and a study of it’s history.

Thank you Tammy and TammyChicago – very moving video. Is there a way we can get this to Helen Thomas and while we’re at it B. Hussein O — NO!

  13. Carol says:

This was just recently shown to me. In the Old Testament, instances of the words “violent” or “violence” are defined in the Greek and Hebrew as follows:
    חָמָס chamac (khaw-mawce’)
    1. violence
    2. (by implication) wrong
    3. (by meton.) unjust gain
King James Version – cruel(-ty), damage, false, injustice, X oppressor, unrighteous, violence (against, done), violent (dealing), wrong.
Sounds a lot like Hamas to me.

  14. Southrider says:

Carol – When thinking about Israel I believe Matthew 22:43 applies. There were too stiff necked to remain the ‘chosen’.
