Just a few updates and links for your afternoon.

First, TAM Chat is live and unruly, join the lively discussion during Tammy Radio.

For those asking here are the links to yesterday’s Slate article, “Sarah Palin’s Biggest Fan
How Tammy Bruce became a Tea Party attack dog”
(Some TAMs, including Artgal, have added comments to the piece). Not suprisingly, Slate’s article title says I’m Palin’s “attack dog.” In a promo on the site, they use “lap dog.” Did Slate get complaints overnight that they weren’t uncivil enough to me? And the CNN mention.

Must reads, likely topics on Tammy Radio:

National Journal: The Phantom 15 Million
Taming unemployment starts with solving the mystery of the jobs that were supposed to have been created in the past 10 years but weren’t.

VDH: Civility for Thee
In 2012 Obama will hope that his polarizing politics, coupled with calls for bipartisanship, will trump his unpopular record.

Dana Milbank at WaPo wants February to be “Palin Free.” Oh, I suppose now that the media has accused her of being an accessory to murder, everything else seems so…banal.

Also, I am seriously considering doing Mystery Science Theatre 3000 to Urkel’s SITU concert Tuesday night. This would mean a live special Tammy Radio. More info soon…

Also coming up–a poll on whether or not you would travel to a TAMCon, and if so, what’s your fave/easiest destination.

Tammy, if it’s this kind of lap dog, I wouldn’t mind being called one …

oh my- the chick across the street from me has one of those monsters. if he stood up he’d be over 6 feet tall. no one bothers her when she walks the dog- but lots of dropped jaws.

this is contrasted with the guy who dresses all gansta style complete with do-rag and is always on his cell phone- walking 5 Shih Tzus all with girly bows in their fur.

That’s an interesting article in Slate. My initial reaction is it’s reasonably moderate in tone, considering the source. It describes Tammy as “far right” and a “shape shifter”, but it does express Tammy’s focus on personal empowerment rather than bureaucratic micromanagement (although I don’t think the writer is prepared to acknowledge that it’s an either/or choice; she (the author) may think society can have both, which is a model I think is unrealistic). I think the author can’t get her mind away from the model that Tammy should be more focused on homosexuality and less focused on broader questions of individualism, and that’s why she can’t perceive the consistent thread of Tammy’s journey. The O.J Simpson incident speaks for itself, and people can decide who they want to side with: Tammy, for focusing on domestic violence that led to the brutal murder of a woman, or NOW, for ignoring the murder in order to bolster its racialist coalition. It offers the possibility that Palin and Tammy are in the game for money and power, and will “shape shift” to whatever form factor will achieve those ends, but seems to understand that the facts don’t really lead to that conclusion. The description of Tammy as a “Tea Party attack dog” implicitly suggests a degree of subservience that is ridiculous. Tammy is no less a servant of the movement than she is a leader. Overall, I guess those of us on Tammy’s side won’t be discouraged, but those who disparage her won’t complain overmuch.

Glenn Beck has been doing an interesting series of shows this week, on a theme of “cows and ranchers”. It relates to a comment I left here not too long ago re. the Tucson shooting, that the elite believes everything is about psychology and emotions, at least WRT their relationship to the unwashed masses. The way they perceive people like Tammy, or Glenn (though I don’t equate the two of them in their views), is they’re “cows” who are “playing rancher”, and are being disruptive to the “herd”, because they don’t realize how what they say affects the “cows”, who are just mindless beasts that can’t think. The “posers” or “interlopers” are just doing it for their own advantage, trying to get in on the “rancher” game, because they’re a little smarter than the “cows”, but can’t cut the mustard as “real ranchers”. So the “ranchers” believe they need to get the “cows” to marginalize these disruptive “interlopers”, or else chaos will ensue.

I think Glenn is right on with his analysis on how the elite, both on the left and the right, see us. If we can understand the perception they have of us, then we can have more discernment about the messages we get from them about us, and see it for what it is, rather than being hurt by it, or let it raise doubts.

Hey, Tammy. Just read the Slate article and agree basically with Maynard’s post. What got me is the implied narcissism that supposedly motivates you and to a lesser extent(in the article), Gov. Palin. That you both don’t really believe in what you say you do, that you can be distracted or corrupted outright, given a situation…like any politician. And of course, the implication that someone who’s livelihood comes from expressing an opinion is easily turned. So I say to you what President Reagan reportedly said in a note to in-coming President Bush…Don’t let the ‘turkey’s’ get you down!

  5. tamcat says:

Mystery Science Theatre 3000, YES YES YES, I can’t bear to listen to the dumb bastard. If you do it I will DVR the SOTU address. If not, I will read about it later. As I will be out that night.

  6. mrcannon says:

For a long time, I’ve been a Palin doubter. That is no longer the case, and I hereby allow you to take full credit, Tammy. She’s the one–I believe it, because you do.

“Attack dog” … really, libprogs, get a new playbook. You make it way too easy to laugh at you.

  7. radargeek says:

The sorry “slate” of affairs is its these lap-dogs that can’t see past their tails between their legs when their “precious” O-bummer screws-up daily. Slate? What’s that and who cares?

  8. thierry says:

unstable and possibly insane. at the very least a personality disorder, check( note the number of times sanity is brought up. shape shifting is a euphemism for disordered thinking or hypocrisy.).
radical feminist i.e. man hating, anti- sex harpy, check ( because ‘ real feminists’ i.e. rank and file leftist hacks say so.)
    racist, check.
    self- loathing gay, check.

all done up in muted half tones- because the left is never hysterical and prone to hate filled screeds, line drives or meandering excursions into character deconstruction and assassination. now they will sometimes attempt to thinly veil their hatred, misogyny and homophobia in condescending ‘i’m trying to keep my voice down’ pandering- pointing out or creating contradictions in the behaviors of others while being blissfully unaware of their own patterns of dysfunction , hypocrisy, and out right mendacity. they’re not even half as clever as they think themselves. there are more artful hatchet jobs in ‘American Psycho.’ tomorrow they’ll be back to screaming about speechifying that contradicts them being the root cause of mass murder and, still, how even if oj did kill his wife and her friend, the racism of a few shrill man haters at NOW is more of an affront to humanity than a ruthless unrepentant butcher of two human beings.

i have to say one of the main events that drove me away from leftists and their feminist lap cats was the response to the OJ Circus and Sideshow. when susan brownmiller was researching her ground breaking work ‘ against our will, men women and rape’, she went to do research on the treatment of black women in the south. at the library where she was requesting documents a hostile librarian insisted that what she really wanted to study was the lynching of black men- that’s what was ‘ rape’. because black women did not matter. it seemed so obvious that nicole brown , a woman, did not matter likewise. any so called feminist who could fall for it cared not a whit about women of any hue but only about themselves being uncomfortable and called bad names. in the end one wonders- did anyone recall that two people died cruel and brutal deaths? is anyone really now thinking that humans in tuscon died cruel and brutal deaths?

sarah palin’s pet confused lesbian. that’s rich. i’d rather be sarah palin’s pet gay then urkel’s disposable left wing butt wipe- because anyone having at anything palin on salon is just a tool of the tool in chief and his assorted liberal echos. now todd palin is being dragged down the al gore massage trail of inequity. nothing they have done has worked to finally chisel sarah palin as a bad, evil, hateful tyrannical creature. the accusations will only get more outrageous and anyone who doesn’t at least dismiss her is going to get had at. meanwhile no one notices the actual tyranny sarah palin stands in opposition to for no reason other than it is the right thing to do.

sarah palin treats other humans with decency and respect- something the likes of Urkel and the power elite of both parties are incapable of doing because they do not view other every day people as their equals in any manner. when they rant at or make lame attempts to ‘ carefully consider’ with references tammy and her alleged bigotry and the bigotry of her Lord and Master, sarah palin, it is because the bell is empty- that’s why it’s so bloody loud. and persistent. they have nothing- no proof -so chant the lie over and over. it’s the readily available proof of their own bigotry and lack of morality , lack of decency that they are attempting to drown out .

now you are suppose to back away from the Palin Monster and be all ashamed.
