re no one coming to defense of SP & Tea Party after Tucson, maybe msg is getting thru. T-Paw has come out in defense of Walker. So maybe they can learn, but it does look like the attitude is “Check out what SP is doing”, then follow. And I really do think her presentation on Long Island will wake some of those who thought she could be dismissed easily. Yes, she has a vocal group of folks who will jump in whenever she is being dissed, (and even mild jokes are causing some nice guys on twitter to be bombarded until they apologize), but hearing her, in her own words, means the power brokers can see that how they treat her will be an important part of their job if they want to promote a different candidate. And their guys better be able to field strip a moose, and handle a dog sled and rifle, before they try to use sexist tactics against her.
As for Thune, don’t really know much about him, but he always struck me as someone who if he weren’t a Senator, he could play one on TV.
As for Daniels, it was like the air went out of the balloon on twitter. Was surprised at the immediate reaction where a number of folks I follow are “ok” about SP, but thought he had the ability to out shine her. Sadness, sighs and the sound of pencils crossing him off the POTUS wanna be list. Also some whining about giving Christie a free pass, (oh they are in for a surprise if they think that!).
On the O’Reilly spot, it is annoying to TAMS (yes, we are a clingy bunch at times) that we miss two great live hours because he wants you to give him one minute, but you managed to get in some good points, esp about the Detroit schools, which he didn’t appear to be thinking about for the segment.
And all the whining about FOX being under attack, hopefully someone there realizes that this a just a test for the upcoming elections. Can they taint the image of the news organization in the eyes of the general public, most of whom are not into 24 hour news cycles, so that voters get negative vibs about anything associated with FOX? If reporters insist on doing TV spots standing in front of an organized group intent on shouting them down, they won’t be heard. We have had many reports about the tactics used to push a point of view when the cameras are rolling. The use of a dead child a few years ago when Israel and Hamas were battling, that child kept showing up in different places and at different times.
Recently one reporter said that the mood of a crowd changed instantly from friendly to hostile in Egpyt when the reporter refused to be pushed into promoting the group’s propaganda on the air.
A lot of what is happening in WI seems like a test run. Like those practice tests, getting used the envirnoment. Like testing done by terror groups, planning an operation which may not be actually planned to work, but is being watched to see the reaction of folks. The crotch bomber, and the Times Sq. bomber both have the feel of testing the system, mainly because there wasn’t any backup in either incident. We know a lot of effort and money is being deployed in WI and the tone of foul language and mob tactics makes me wonder how many “teachers” are in the crowd and how many are just unemployed ACORN community advisors, and aging baby boomer anti-war demonstrators who are getting a rush remembering their good old hippy days. And the power brokers are taking notes.
