Maynard appends: RuBegonia has kindly posted video clips of Tammy on Red Eye. This is good stuff.

With respect to Red Eye…recalling the Flintstones jingle, which Tammy mentioned…

Let’s ride with the family down the street
Through the courtesy of Fred’s two feet

She was contrasting the technology of Fred’s car, which compares favorably to the Chevy Volt, both in terms of economy and “green-ness” (Fred’s feet were green, both in the sense of ecological correctness and also literally, due to an unfortunate fungal condition). (By the way, I was ahead of the curve in condemning the Volt.)

Saw you on Red Eye over at Rubegonia. You seemed like how I’d feel on that show: Too mature (emotionally, that is, you and Jedediah), though you managed to roll with the comedy. So good job! I watched that show just to see you on it. I wouldn’t watch it otherwise. They pride themselves on being a bit offensive and childish. Not my style.

Here’s the format of Redeye, to me:
      1) Greg picks a topic,
      2) Everyone on the panel gets a chance to comment and/or wisecrack, usually with mixed results, because of the constant interrupting, non sequiturs and lame verbal riffs.
      3) rinse and repeat.

If you accept the premise of the show, it has it’s moments.

  3. Maynard says:

Tammy’s right that Palin’s presentation gets better and better. As one that’s been pretty skeptical about the prospects of a Palin presidency, I do find the trend interesting.

Forgive my odd musing, but when I see an aspiring leader move from lack of fluency to eloquence, this passage from Exodus 4 comes to mind:

    10) And Moses said to the Lord, O Lord, I am not eloquent or a man of words, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and have a heavy and awkward tongue.

    11) And the Lord said to him, Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the dumb, or the deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? Is it not I, the Lord?

    12) Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and will teach you what you shall say.

It would be presumptuous to proclaim Palin a modern day Moses. But considering the turmoil overtaking the Middle East, and the West’s dependence upon the flow of oil and our other erring ways, we are again in need of someone to lead us out of Egypt.

If It Be Your Will by Leonard Cohen comes to mind.

I think Sarah is the modern day “Esther”, not Moses. Read the book of Esther in the Bible. There are interesting parallels. She had wisdom, discernment of those in power, morality, inner strength, and sacrificed herself to save her people by being fearless in petitioning the King on their behalf. She also had God’s favor. (That would be the great equalizer.) And, I don’t think Sarah needs ‘no stinkin’ rod’.

      • TammyChicago says:

I’ve thought Sarah resembeled a modern day Esther too. But, comparing Sarah to Moses is hardly slumming 🙂 She is, at the very least, beyond anything we have seen in a very long time.

I served with King Xerxes, I knew King Xerxes, King Xerxes was a friend of mine. Obama is no King Xerxes.

      Maynard, love your comment.

I was reading in Judges the other day, about Deborah, and there was a footnote from J. P. Lange’s “A Commentary,” which really struck me. Speaking of Deborah, Lange wrote, “History shows many instances when, in times of distress, when men despaired, women arose and saved their nation; but in all such cases there must be an unextinguished spark of the old fire in the people themselves.”

      Gave me chills.

  4. rickh says:

The best part of the Orielly deal was her telling him to let her speak. He didn’t like that… At all. Her appearance on the Judge show over the weekend was by far her best outing to date. She was very relaxed. You could tell.

    • dennisl59 says:

Off Topic: Speaking of OR. His encounter with Rumfeld was pathetic, over-the-top, and was based on myths, lies, and misinformation that he bought hook, line and sinker from the propaganda machine of the Ministry of Truth and Virtue. It’s completely clear to me or anyone that has read his book, sections X & XI, that Colin Powell’s Department of State and George Tenet’s CIA undermined any rational, thoughtful and fact based assessment of Iraq. And don’t get me started with the Hypocrites in Congress who voted for “Regime Change”. “I voted for it before I voted against it”.

RueBegonia, you are so wonderful for posting the videos of Tammy! For those of us who have no dvr, it is a lifesaver. Thanks a bunch.

    • LJZumpano says:

When we win this war, and you know we will, the TAM army will need to give out some special medals. RuBegonia has already qualified for the “Most Distingushed Service” medal, and, of course, it will be her job to design it. Woo Hoo Ru !!!!

  6. ecu22331963 says:

Speaking of the Bill O’ Riley show, Sarah Palin checked him for constantly interrupting her, it was classic Palin.

Not sure if any Tams watched Sarah on the Justice with Judge Jennie show (on FOX), Sarah Palin was “off-the-cuff” and of course on target.

    • JuanitaDugas says:

I did watch and thought Judge Jeannine asked good tough questions and seemed impressed with Sarah’s confident forceful answers…I know I was!

  7. jeaneeinabottle says:

Obama’s chief of staff: “the no fly zone isn’t a video game people” ………..are these guys afraid?

  8. imNOTanINDIAN says:
