I have to respectfully disagree with something noted on today’s show regarding Brewer/AZ.

Except for the left-of-the-left contingent of Pima County that longs to become a separate state, the rest of Arizona indeed realizes the federal government does not mean us well.

I don’t see Brewer as having been too nice to Obama; she has kicked back every time the feds issued ridiculous statements and lawsuits (SB1070 is not the only lawsuit issued against us). She was not intimidated or taken off course when we were threatened with lawsuits last year, and she also made it clear we’re not messing around on SB1070 – we’re going straight to the Supreme Court.

Brewer, Russell Pearce, Tom Horne, Sheriffs Joe, Babeu, Dever, those in the state legislature who supported SB1070 & were out in full force defending Arizona on various shows – we’re proud of them. We were energized by SB1070! In fact, we made fun of our detractors, laughed when people called for a boycott of Arizona Iced Tea, ALMOST had Grijalva out – the first time he was ever challenged, put up signs encouraging illegals to go to California (sorry CA TAMs!) for free stuff when various city councils in CA threatened us, too. Even our legislators were on board the Snark Train. We were also eager to help get our side of the story out, and we did.

The day after SB1070 was signed by Brewer, Smart Girl Politics held a border clean up in honor of Rob Krentz, the rancher murdered just weeks before SB1070 was news. Smart Guy Mike Shaw videotaped our three-hour venture at the Naco border (over 1200 pounds of garbage collected) and the story was picked by Michelle Malkin. That one story went all over the place and the response was overwhelmingly supportive of Arizona. Many people were shocked to learn just how easy it was to climb a border fence especially when illegals have welded bars to hoist themselves over. You won’t see that on MSM coverage. You also won’t see trails of baby bottles, diapers, kids clothes, underwear, girl’s jeans, brushes, meds w/ Spanish labels, etc. on the nightly news. They may show the water bottles & backpacks, but they won’t reveal the total human tragedy in this matter. We even went to the transport area – a bridge hovering over the wash that leads to the Naco border. There is a sea of footprints – animal and human – embedded into the earth along with the harsh realization you are standing in someone else’s shoes, so to speak – someone who may have been forced to part with their belongings (even baby bottles and diapers) so as many of the human cargo can fit into a van as possible. So no – we’re not at all oblivious to the fact the malevolent pig in the WH does not mean us well.

What we are seeing now is a governor calling this chump out for making light of a very serious national security and human rights issue. I have also appreciated Brewer’s willingness to be very public making multiple appearances on Greta’s show – sometimes within the same week – which keeps this matter at the forefront.

We have many challenges in our state right now and an escalating matter regarding education which is indeed being linked into the immigration issue. Please read up on the matter as what is taking place in Tucson’s education community should disturb everyone.

I love your Governor. I have the ultimate respect for her and all the sheriffs you mentioned. (Get rid of Dupnik) Too bad you weren’t able to get Grijalva out of office, the moron that he is. I’m sure he has a heavily Mexican district who will vote him in just because he is Mexican, whether or not he called a boycott against his own state. No offense to Gabrielle Giffords and I pray she recovers from her injuries, but her seat was almost won by a conservative as well, and I wish it had been.

I think conservatives here in California and I’m sure elsewhere, are jealous of you Arizonans because you have such an awesome governor. Of course, the morons in my state voted in retread Jerry Brown, who I understand is going to pass the Dream Act. Great, just what we need in Cali, more illegal aliens.

Arizona is a great state, made even greater because you have a governor who actually has stood up to the Idiot-In-Chief. She’s a strong woman. I’ve always had a love affair with the state of Arizona. My parents always took us there and other Southwest states when we were kids, but AZ holds a special place in my heart. In fact, after California, it’s my second favorite state of the union.

Keep up the good work Artgal and all your like minded individuals in the great state of Arizona. We love you.

Thank you, SoCalGal! Whenever you and the CA TAMs are ready to defect from CA, you will have a big welcome here : )

Regarding Grijalva: In all honesty, I do believe he actually lost the race, but due to a lot of shenanigans in Pima Co., he retained it. I say he lost because it’s is based on the fact that even CNN had exit polling on election night showing Ruth McClung comfortably ahead of him. Early ballots had her ahead, too. We were all concerned in the days before the election because Grijalva’s staff, when questioned about Ruth’s ‘surprise’ challenge & impact, said they weren’t worried because they knew he would win. That was a statement unto itself.

Raul Grijalva is a notorious thug. Powerful interests assisted Grijalva and sent 200 SEIU jackboots on the ground to ‘help’ voters. Some fraud was reported in Yuma thanks to watchful volunteers, but the main element of fraud is in Pima County which is one of the most corrupt areas in the state. I loved that Ruth would not concede until every vote was counted – that took well over a month which exposed just how embarrassingly incompetent, slow and unorganized Pima Co. truly is.

Grijalva HAS to be defeated in 2012 and does have a challenger, Gabriela Saucedo Mercer. Ruth McClung may be in an entirely new district once re-districting takes place, so we’ll see what happens. Grijalva is behind the current border issues at Buenos Aires National Wildlife Reserve and the recent Ethnic Studies riots in Tucson – so is his daughter who occupies the seat on the school board he once held.

Though Grijalva’s district is heavily Democrat with a majority Hispanic population, the people of Hispanic descent really do not like him! In fact, I had more fun talking to the Hispanic people in south Tucson about Ruth (a very depressed area full of unemployment, gang violence, the hub of drug trafficking and immense poverty) than the snotty white liberals, who make up a bulk of Grijalva’s support!

Grijalva is left of the left – he’s not even a Democrat. The Hispanic people here are largely very conservative in their ideas, strong in their faith, prolife, and you would be surprised how many agree with securing our border. Most are not supportive of Amnesty even if they know of family or others here illegally. It’s truly a more radical minority who embrace ‘open borders’ and ‘Amnesty’. I think Ruth’s outreach and constant visits over 18 months with the public all across her district did wonders in setting the record straight about SB1070 (which many in that district are not entirely supportive of it, but not entirely against it either on specific points) and other hot topics – especially Grijalva’s record. Until Ruth McClung and now, Gabby Saucedo Mercer, Grijalva has never had a challenge. Now, the people in CD7 have been introduced to two very strong, capable and incredible women who did – and are doing – what the pantywaist boys in the local GOP cannot do: take on the corrupt network of Grijalva in full force. It takes the girls to get it done!

I used to believe the district fell to Grijalva due to his background, but that’s not true. The GOP – both locally & nationally – have dismissed that area as ‘Grijalva’s’ instead of ‘the peoples’ and didn’t want to waste time and money there. They never tried to reach out to the people in poor communities & the GOP was not at all supportive of Ruth UNTIL she won the primary with 52% of the vote. Ruth McClung’s team changed everything – oh, and it was a completely grassroots, chick-run operation. She proved that when you offer REAL choices, people will respond – and so will opponents! The people will have a new rep in 2012. I’m convinced of that.

Thank you for the kind words about Gov. Brewer. I love her, too! Wish I could find equal affection for CA’s governor. Still can’t believe he’s back in! Hurry to AZ – we’ll be the safe haven of the southwest : )
