WaPo: Sarah Palin to visit Iowa State Fair this week on ‘One Nation’ bus tour

There’s a new CNN poll that most of the LSM is touting as proof Perry enters the race in the lead. Actually, when you consider the 4.5 MoE, everyone is tied. The real news of this poll is the virtual collapse of Michelle Bachmann, who seems to lose half her support to Perry…who will then lose all his support to Palin (and everyone else) when it becomes clear he’s a Religious Liberal in the mold of George W. Bush. Campaigns are meant to let you get to know people. The fact that Palin, after everything they’ve done to her, is tied with everyone, speaks volumes about the patience of the American people 😉

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi announced her appointments to the bipartisan congressional “super committee” on Thursday , tapping Democratic Reps. Nice to be in the lounge. I’d join everyone in the Chat room, but I’m at work and the ‘smartypants’ in IT blocked access.
What a ‘sadsack’ bunch of clowns (super-duper finance committee members). Looks like it would make a nice ‘wanted’ grouping of pictures at the Post Office. ‘Business as Usual’ in Washington continues unabated.
Finally, I would love to go to Iowa for Sarah Palin event (i.e. Tea Party), but it’s just too far away from Houston, TX and I can’t afford the airfare right now. I’m very interested in knowing who plans to go, and how you’re getting there.
    Peace, TAMs

kwilder, chatroom is open tonight at 8:45 pm (8/11/2011). Hope you can make it.

I will be driving from Nashville to Iowa.

If you can get to Dallas, this may be an option for you:

“The Texas chapter of Organize4Palin has chartered a bus to travel to Waukee Iowa […]

The charter is scheduled to depart Dallas Thursday night, September 1st, and to return Sunday night, September 4th. The O4P Texans are having the bus wrapped in “Texas is Palin Country” livery.

Seats are still available at $175 per round trip ticket, which includes transfers to and from the event site. Lodging is not included but O4P has arranged for special able group rate.”

heya kwilder-I haven’t been blocked from chat yet, but IT has blocked all radio streaming from my computer. So I can chat, but I can’t listen to what she is saying. I can’t get anybody else either from my computer. I did bring my little handy dandy radio from home sitting here by my desk, so at least I have my local talk radio station and can listen to Rush. All is not lost, but I do miss listening to Miss Tammy.

      • kwilder says:

It started with the radio streaming here too… eventually they figured out how to block the chat feed, and that was gone. So, I guess what I’m saying is… enjoy that chat stream, because it might not last much longer. 😉
It was frustrating having chat without radio because everyone would be chatting ‘right on, Tammy’ and ‘you go girl’ and I’m thinking: What’s going on?

        • SoCalGal says:

Me too. I become a broken record by saying, “What is she saying?”
IT really figured out the live streaming fast though, because on my first day at work, I could get Tammy and others on the computer, but the next time I tried, a day or two later, it was blocked.

yeh it must be cos she’s back out & hopefully taking that bus tour around the country for the next YEAR..lol…i was really afraid some leftist group up in alaska, with the help of some corrupt judge somewhere would hold her in some looooong court case or more jury duty for the next 9 months or year or so…that would be the ultimate way the radical left could really hold her down & keep her away from the people.

Not only does the poll above have a 4.5% margin of error, it is based on only 449 Republicans “interviewed” by phone. I personally wonder what parts of the country the telephone respondents were from, but the “ORC” organization doesn’t say. After all, it could have been just the Atlanta metro area!

Yet CNN and other LSM outlets will no doubt use this poll as if it were the ultimate truth from on high (as they always do). Most all the pundits use polls as some sort of journalistic cudgel and final authority to any argument which can have no rebuttal. Pollsters know this, they know the power they have — which makes me suspicious of them all big-time in this supercharged political atmosphere where we are fighting for America’s future. Take all polls with a grain of salt.

Palin WILL NOT endorse PERRY. She will go ‘all in’ herself. And will blow his doors off during any debate. She’s a ‘policy wonk’ who knows her stuff. EX: The recent 2,500 word post on Facebook. Perry is an mental light weight, with Liberal tendencies. In fact, I have predicted that once Palin runs Perry off the road into the political ditch, it’s HE who will endorse HER and have all the Republican Governors support her at the Nomination Convention(A previous prediction of mine, btw).

At this moment, it seems like the race is Romney’s to lose, with Perry as the one most likely to launch a threatening challenge. So if the more “conservative” crowd ends up coalescing behind a single candidate who might take the prize from Romney, I can see Palin endorsing, presumably in exchange for some influence. Otherwise, it looks like Romney will cross the finish line first while the rest simply don’t gather enough momentum. That’s my gut prognostication, and is not a statement of what I’d like to see happen. Of course, there’s a lot of water to go under the bridge, and a dark horse may possibly emerge and surprise all of us. Just as Clinton came out of nowhere — although Clinton entered a race which the Democrats expected to lose because Bush looked strong, so maybe the mainline candidates weren’t as tenacious and figured they’d let the new guy take the fall, and Clinton became the accidental president. This time the Republicans smell blood, so the candidates will give it their all.

As a society we have been condition by the establishment /Society by being entranced by “Names “ Does anyone really know how Rick Perry is … No!!! … except that Palin supported him for Governor over Rove’s pick in Senator Hutchinson. Nothing is wrong of him being a Governor but not President. Perry is a Liberal version of Jack Kemp & garners the support of some far-out religious groups … Go watch some of video from his prayer summit & clips of what the speakers have also said in the past. Do you know how bad it is for Perry … Rachael Maddow had a segment regarding his extreme religious ties last night … no need for her to distort it … Once they all see he will not stop Palin he will be tossed aside … destroyed in the process. Well serves him right … Palin saved the Governorship for him & he pulls this … As for Romney he has already lost … forget the Republican nomination … he sould be far ahead of Obama given the economic state of our country & he is not …

        • jondavid says:

          P.S.
I agree with Tammy … Sarah Palin is the only person who can defeat Obama (Just read her Face Book note Conquering the Storm) & that is why since McCain picked her as his VP they have been trying to literally annihilate her … She is “It” & the Dems see this in her … Hell if Palin was a Democratic she would be President now … Anyone else the Republicans nominate his machine will wipe the floor with … no matter the state of the economy or international situation.

I wanted to believe what his supporters where saying at the time…. that he just got a lot of bad advice, and such people were promptly fired from his team. I wanted to keep an open mind about him until I learned more. But hearing about the tie to the drug maker?? 3 words! ku-freak’n-ruption! Plus this whole public praying for rain crap? and the big media appearance to pray for the country?? This guy is trying to out God Bush! He is trying to be more religious then Palin. But it comes off as totally fake. I believe Bush was/is sincere in his beliefs. I think Bush is a religious centrist. I am starting to get the vibe that Perry is not even a religious liberal, but just one in a long line of empty suits that cling to any position that they think will keep them in power or help them to achieve more power.

Since he instinctively does not trust the people with “lethal rifles” doesn’t that come from an elitist mentality?

  16. Kimj7157 says:

I have no doubt whatsoever that Sarah Palin will be running for President. One big reason I know that is because there is NO WAY she would just be stringing people along when she knows about the HUGE grassroots efforts out there on her behalf. Groups have been organizing all over the Country for months so things will be in place once she announces. Countless hours have been spent by her supporters and she simply wouldn’t have allowed that to continue if she had no intention of running. She’s too decent for that.

The momentum has been building and Sarah Palin has been getting her message out there more effectively than any of those with their hats already in the ring. I think it’s a great move for her to wait until the last minute to declare. I’m sure she’s been sizing up the competition, such as it is, and will come onto the scene completely prepared and ahead of the game. By the time Sarah is in a debate, the field will have been pared down and less of her time (and ours) will be wasted and the stark contrast between her and what will be left of the establishment candidates will be even more evident.

    And I can’t wait! 🙂

  18. LJZumpano says:

Had another head explosion after reading the Newsweek piece on Bachmann. Decided I need to put my feelings down in writing in order to move on. I went on online to see the infamous photo that was causing grief for so many. I didn’t feel anything, pro or con, when I saw it. But after giving it some thought, here is my take..

In the “good old days”, when contact lens use was still a novel idea, my sister was fitted for a pair. I noticed that when wearing them she tended to look up and away. Her eye focus seemed changed. That was what I saw in Bachmann. Maybe she just needs to change her contact lens prescription.

Second thought is regarding eye makeup. Bachmann has been known for an extra-heavy use of eye makeup. I realize lately she has toned down that use, and probably has assistants now who are makeup experts. I think that is fine. Not every woman is an expert on makeup and fashion, and HRC is a prime example. When she was in the White House she had staff who could assist her in wardrobe and makeup choices and most times looked fine. It annoys me that HRC, who has admitted to being tone-deaf about makeup & wardrobe, with all her money does not think it is worth the effort to put her best face forward as she represents the American people.

At this point Bachmann realizes she needs to be shaped, but she has small, insignificant looking eyes. I believe her heavy eye makeup use was an attempt to draw attention to her eyes and make them appear larger. The photo, sans heavy eye makeup, is precisely the look she was trying to avoid. In the candid shots which were released with the article, you will notice Bachmann’s eyes tend to disappear. She needs to have a heart to heart with staff and let them know the look she wants, and let them figure out how to achieve it without going overboard with the black eyeliner and mascara.

Which brings me to the head explosion. I think the change in makeup was another case where Bachmann was ”told” how to do something. Even if her own judgment told her it would make her eyes look off, she allowed others to dictate what she would do. It’s a pattern with her. In every article on her background that I have seen one theme is played out. Every important step she has taken, every decision she has made regarding her career was pushed upon her, mainly by her husband. Whether it is a lack of self confidence or a feeling she must always defer to the judgment of the men in her life, it makes my head explode. If she were to be elected POTUS, who would be putting in ultimate power? Her husband? GOP elites? A combination of both?

I am not looking for a woman POTUS merely to break a glass ceiling. I am looking for a POTUS who may happen to be a woman, but who is ready, willing and able to stand toe to toe with any man and fight for the job. I don’t know enough about Bachmann to question her positions, but I do not like the subservient, submissive thread which seems to be a part of her. I don’t want a puppet for POTUS. Exceptional American women have their own ideas, skills and talents, and the courage to stand up for themselves without being submissive to anyone.

    • 3livesleft says:

I have these same concerns about Bachmann. Very articulate head explosion, LJZ.

    • not that it has any effect on my opinion of her as a person or politician, but does anyone else also feel that when she appears on TV, she starts off looking kind of scary-deer-in-headlights, then the next moment she looks absolutely stunning? then soon back to deer-in-headlights? mostly during the intro’s and outro’s. It’s really quite a remarkable transformation!

Holy crap, she just she just rocked the Iowa State fair on Hannity. If that’s an indication of what is to come, this is going to be one fun ride. The people love her! Those who say she is too divisive are simply lying. She makes the media and the hard-core libs cry, but everyone else will be crazy about her.

    • otlset says:

Yeah, and she really started to get loose and animated toward the last of the interview. At that point she started even looking away from Hannity more and started addressing the crowd directly, section by section, getting them whipped up! It was great! And the crowd was large, you could see it go back quite a ways.

But then she left, and after the break the following guests seemed to sink into a more sparse and subdued, more muted or even drab, kind of conventional talk talk…snoooze as the crowd dwindled and interest waned. The energy was gone. And so was the oxygen. Sarah Palin had moved on.

I didn’t feel like she was speaking in rehearsed sound bites; I felt like she was speaking naturally and from the heart. I’ve heard talk that Romney’s verbal tussle with that liberal while he was stumping on a bale of hay was a “game-changer” for Romney, but I think that Palin’s interview with Hannity tonight is closer to being the game-changer for the GOP field. It’s now very clear that she alone has the “it” factor: the momentum and charisma that the other candidates lack. What she does with it, only time will tell.

Laura Ingraham is now big time RINO establishment, her book went to #5 on the NY Times best seller list, her advantage of being on the radio she promotes it every 5 minutes like the lepercon Bill O Reilly does with his books and tours and other junk he peddles on that stupid factor. Ingraham has no use for Sarah Palin anymore she has her instructions from the machine, “Anybody But Palin” we must keep Sarah out or our little charade will be exposed. The Rino establishment along with Fox News all work in concert together. They are all slowly being exposed for the frauds that they are.

See people Palin is natural born Military Strategist & Grass roots organizer … She applies this God given ability to politics … very few have this ability & even fewer like Palin has … You see by her waiting … people’s true colors like Ingraham, & Perry surface … She has the “IT” factor & they ALL know it … they have been baiting her to make moves before she wants to … Palin will have none of that … now they are forced to make the moves … see is prepping the battlefield on her terms.

Palin in military terms has been doing Zwischenzug to her opposition forcing a Zugzwang … Truly brilliant

    • dennisl59 says:

In my curiosity to find out wth you’re talking about jondavid, I looked up those german words, LOL!. Yes, exactly, classic chess moves. Thanks. There ‘are those'(The Democrat-Media Complex and Liberal Republican Establishment) that contine to underestimate Palin’s ability to “Condition the Political Battlespace” to her advantage for the win.

Patience is a virtue and she has massive amounts of it.

Yes they are chess moves but in German for a reason … what are Germans known for … War … Military doctrine.

Palin … Politics, Organizing & Military Doctrine are ALL one in the same … She has a remarkable mind.

As usual Tammy, an awesome Palin report. I’m absolutely certain the good Gov. will announce her intention to becaome the next POTUS soon. She buying her time and enjoying the wonderful sites around this great Nation. I’d like to congratulate the Palin family for their newest addition. Grand children are what help keep us all centered about what we are fighting for. These little rascals are expecting us to not only look out for America, but to leave it in better shape then we found it for them to enjoy.

  43. ShArKy666 says:

that hannity interview made my hair stand on end!…palin’s electricity is astounding!..just thinking about slashing govt by 50% if she’d do it is incredible!…if she wins and gets a tea party congress, it’s gonna be up to US to keep this socialist/communist near miss from ever happening again…for the next 200 years…ps she’s REALLY funny when she crosses her eyes and says “cut the crap!”..lol

  44. Mutnodjmet says:

I was dialoging with someone in Hot Air who stated that the reason Palin hasn’t jumped in yet is because she doesn’t believe the other candidates will be vetted properly once she gets in the race. I cannot argue that logic. The IOWA dinner tonight shows that Bachmann is already a has been, and Perry is about to get the vetting of his life.

At the Iowa State Fair I was able to follow Todd and Sarah. Todd was alawys a gentleman. He was always looking out for Sarah but was so gentle with the crowd. He helped people get in to get photos or sighning. Always talking and joking with the crowd and believe me it was always a crush of a crowd.

    • Someone please make a Todd for Dude! 2012 shirt soon:) just give me a 20% cut;)

  46. ShArKy666 says:

the fact that sarah has grown more comfortable & secure to the point where she’s using her hands to communicate a lot is very telling…i don’t personally like it when someone uses their hands a lot during that process, but with her, i don’t mind as much

  47. niner says:

Apparently Fox is ticked off that Sarah Palin gave inrtviews to CNN, ABC and others in Iowa so they retaliated, by having that idiot Carl Cameron go out and say Sarah would endorse Perry or Romney and wasnt running, a bold face lie. Fox is also ticked off that Sarah praised Newt Gingrich for taking on Foxs media pundits at the debate.
Watch for more dissing of Sarah in the coming days from Fox. I wish she would terminate her contract there, but it pays her well, so she will end it when she ends it.

Painfully obvious this morning- I’m a M-F Fox & Friends fan and I didn’t hear her name mentioned once this morning during the time I had it on! It will be interesting to see how they handle all of it- I’m with you… can’t wait for her to be COMPLETELY FREE : )

I don’t think this has been mentioned yet in this thread. I am close to the Dallas area and there is a bus chartered for the Iowa event, set to leave Dallas on Thursday night, Sept. 1st. If you are in the Houston area, there is a link somewhere earlier in this Palin thread about their bus trip.

Get more info about the Dallas bus here: http://bustriptodesmoines.blogspot.com/

As of today, I’m told there are still seats. I’m hoping to be on this bus. Maybe some more TAMS will come also?

It has been observed that a Google search on the key phrase “Obama blames” yields over half a million hits.

Seems that Obama’s been doing a lot of blaming.

  52. Maynard says:

    Some Leno…

President Obama will embark on a bus tour through the Midwest that will focus on jobs — mainly, him trying to keep his.

S&P downgraded the United States from AAA to AA+, and it gets worse. Today, Italy, England, and Greece un-friended us on Facebook.

I don’t know why Timothy Geithner would quit working at the Treasury, it must be an easy job now, especially since there’s no money in it.

The United States has been downgraded, and this is how bad it is: Even Greece won’t talk to us.

The Dow skyrocketed 400 points. Which just shows that on a day that President Obama doesn’t talk, Congress doesn’t act, and the experts are on vacation, we’ll be fine.

They say the price of gas could soon be under $3 a gallon. Do you know what that means? You can now afford to drive by the house you used to live in, go by the job you used to have, and go see the bank where you used to have money.

President Obama said this week that the downgrading of our credit rating should give America “a renewed sense of urgency.” A renewed sense of urgency? The only people that don’t think it’s urgent are the congressmen that just went on a five week vacation.

Did you know that China has the exact same credit rating that we do? You’d think their credit would be better, but it’s not. Look who owes them all the money.

According to the Mexican government, the number of people leaving Mexico for the United States is now practically zero. It’s true. The other day I was in downtown Los Angeles and I heard something down there I haven’t heard in years: English
