Just. Not. Right. I nominate Kate Winslet, Cate Blanchett or Charlize Theron. That is all.

Really is there some question here?

Nicole Kidman in Talks to Play Grace Kelly in ‘Grace of Monaco’

Nicole Kidman is in negotiations to portray Hollywood icon Grace Kelly in Grace of Monaco, the indie project centering on the actress-turned-princess from producer Pierre-Ange Le Pogam, sources confirm to The Hollywood Reporter…

Oliver Dahan, who directed Marion Cotillard to an Oscar for the Edith Piaf biopic La Vie en rose, is helming the period movie. Kidman is in the process of attaching herself to what is being envisioned as a $15 million producion and is being compared in tone to The King’s Speech.

Monaco isn’t a biopic and instead focuses on a six month period in 1962 when the city-state got into a heated dispute with France, which grew tired of the petite principality being a tax haven. Kelly, still relatively new in her role as princess, maneuvered behind the scenes to save Monaco from a coup.

I don’t know what the producers are thinking. I agree, Kidman is just all wrong! Hey, January Jones would be a good choice for the part of Grace Kelly.

Yes, I’ve noticed a great resemblance between Kelly and Jones, but I don’t know if Jones has the depth to play the part. The criticisms I’ve heard of her are that she is kind of a one-note actress (though I don’t have a problem with her in “Mad Men”).

Why am I even making a comment about a very low budget, obvious vanity project, ‘indie movie’ in pre-pre-production and have less than a zero interest in since you could not pay me to see a film ‘sorta’ about Grace Kelly, who looked completely delicious, dressed by Edith Head, in both Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘Rear Window’ and ‘To Catch A Thief’ I ask myself.

Hollyweird has completely lost it IMHO! Jane Fonda is cast as Nancy Reagan so I guess anything goes now! Next they will cast Brangelina as the Furkels!
