My Washington Times column for this week has been released. I hope you enjoy it! Please Tweet, Facebook, Blog and spread the word! Thanks!

Washington Times: BRUCE: The power of ‘bossy’

…The latest iteration illustrating the pathetic absurdity of the left and its reliance on thought and speech Gestapos once again comes wrapped in the cloak of “It’s for the children!” led by one of the more powerful women in business, Sheryl Sandberg, the COO of Facebook.

She, along with Anna Maria Chavez, the CEO of the Girl Scouts, penned an essay in The Wall Street Journal declaring they were both called “bossy” as girls, and now it’s time to ban the “b-word” because it keeps girls from “reaching their full potential.”

Fully embracing my bossy self, I’m not buying that for one minute, and neither should you. Case in point: Ms. Sandberg and Ms. Chavez were “victims” of the bossy accusation, and yet somehow it didn’t condemn them to lives of telling fortunes for $1.95 a minute…

Great column,Tammy! And thanks so much for mentioning the progressives emasculating of men. No one is talking about that.

Terrific Bossy Tammy ! When I think of all that I’ve been able to achieve in life, I don’t think it would have been possible if I wasn’t bossy. It made me strong enough to believe in myself without having to hold a man’s hand. It’s still “sticks and stones” that count. Names can’t hurt ya. The leftist bullies never really win.

(Bad) Bossy is in the eye of the “intimidated, politically correct, uninformed, leftist” beholder.

“Embrace your Bossy” should be on a t-shirt. 🙂

Might have made a better sarcastic cartoon than article in the WSJ. Don’t remember kids calling each other “bossy” much less an adult calling a kid that. Maybe these two are screwed up. Love it when Tammy kicks over rocks.

Excellent article, Tammy! I printed this for my young nieces to read. This whole campaign was too ludicrous to not point & laugh. Regular people all over the world are giving this one the face palm thinking “What in the world is happening to America”. Answer: Liberals are running things, so stupid rules the day.

Ladies (young & older), embrace your inner Wonder Woman! Dare to be confident, courageous, strong, beautiful, full of wisdom, truth, justice…and #Bossy.

PS: Wonder Woman has been my fav since childhood. Hence, my gravatar. 🙂

Timely and glad, that I purchased, The New Thought Police, at CPAC. I will embrace my inner bossy and read my new autographed copy. I only wish that the Bossy meme had come out before your CPAC panel on why Conservatism is right for women. Would have been an even grander discussion. If I may say, a Boss discussion.

    One of the best parts?

This~> “Amazingly, conservatives (young and old alike) manage to thrive despite being called all sorts of names by liberals, including racist, sexist, homophobic, racist, mean, racist, Nazis, Brownshirts, terrorists, dumb, dumber, and, oh yeah, racist.”

    Sadly, I couldn’t fit that quote into a 140 character tweet. 🙁

Outstanding Tammy! I was a Girl Scout from Brownies to Senior Scouts (yes through High School in the late 60’s when it was so uncool that there were only 5 of us in the whole town.) I loved the camping, sailing, singing and earning of the badges for skills achievement so much that I later worked at several Girl Scout camps as a swimming instructor and counselor. When my own daughters were growing up I was a troop leader/helper as they progressed through the various levels. It was in the early 90’s that I noticed the changes in the program away from acquiring skills to sitting around and talking about our “feelings.” When I became a certified adult leader trainer our course book had a whole chapter on “diversity.” I didn’t know what that was and was told to basically not to question it but to make sure I included it in my Leader Training sessions because it was “very important.” My younger daughter dropped out around this time because it wasn’t very fun anymore and she was tired of being pressured into high volume product sales with little of the money going to the troop. I now make a point of donating generously to the local Boy Scout troops which are doing great things in our community.
