How long will Christianity last?

The link is to an article by Rod Dreher that references a Damien Thompson Spectator column (but you can navigate to from Dreher's post; I could, so hopefully you can to see his entire column – well worth it). Thompson predicts the death of Christianity in Great Britain in 2067, although I would be amazed if it lasts that long either in Gr Br, Europe or America given the current environment based on the secularization of our society.

  1. midget says:

That may be true for Protestant Christians who had left the Church in favor
of a lusty King and a disgruntled priest, however, the Catholic Church has a promise given by Jesus that “the gates of hell would not prevail against it.”
And for 2000 years, Satan has tried even from within. It still stands.
But throughout history, Christians have strayed only to come back when civilization is under attack. The churchs were filled after 9/11/01 for weeks.
I hate to say that another tragedy will do the same. People reach out to God
when there is little hope, some because of faith, some out of fear.
There may be fewer and fewer Christians in the future but there won’t be none.
