I’m thinking Obama didn’t need KVH’s advice, but he’s following it for sure. On his arrival in China on Nov. 10, less than one week after the election thumping, Obama has announced that tourist and business China visas will be extended from one year to ten years. And student visas will be extended from one year to five years. http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/us-china-agree-extend-length-visas-26802182 http://www.straitstimes.com/news/asia/east-asia/story/us-china-significantly-extend-visa-validity-boost-trade-tourism-20141110

You can argue that student visa extension is not a big deal since college is 4 to 5 years and they’re essentially automatically renewed if you’re enrolled. But tourist and business visas to 10 years!!! That’s inviting visa abuse and trying to change the country through uncontrolled immigration. I’m wondering what other countries can get tourist & business visas for 10 years. UK? Japan? Poland? GOP had better step up and turn this around. Or are they going to cower behind the Chamber of Commerce. Wonder if he’ll declare visa expansion success and expand it to Central and South American countries.
