Embedded within the Allied Troops during WWII were 350 soldiers, mostly American, who were museum professionals. Their job was to find and protect historical objects (paintings, monuments, buildings).

All the Anti-Monuments Men. Contrary to the Monuments Men working to save valuables, the administration has quietly worked to seize financial value from private citizens through ‘legal’ legerdemain, specifically, investors in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Last year, Feds did an ‘amendment’ that results in Fannie/Freddie profits all going to the Feds and zero to the private investors. This is essentially a repeat of GM & Chrysler deals that stole from non-union retirees. Hopefully the investors will win their lawsuit against the, Thugs!

I blame Hump Day for my excessive commenting today. Harrumph Day?

Speaking of a Monuments Man (and not in a good way), it’s Prince Charles 65th birthday and so he took a verbal swing at, wait for it, supermarkets. His complaint is that the small farmer is not getting enough income and he blames supermarkets for that. Article interesting tidbits include that the British magazine, Country Life, has had a, girl with pearls, photo page since 1897 founding, and that Charles now 65 having been inline for the throne since age 3 is the longest King in-waiting in 300 years. Stiff upper lip ol pip, couldnt’ happen to a more deserving bloke.
