Obama has taken several actions recently to increase the cost of energy. The Export-Import Bank has just announced that in order to receive Ex-Im financing, coal plants must have carbon capture technology. And Obama has issued an Order that all Federal gov't agencies (military along with civilian) must use 20% green energy by 2020. (Before this Order, the goal was 7.5% green energy.) And in a related manner, the State of Maryland has proposed new coal plant pollution rules that will close two coal plants that provide 1200 MW of energy.
