RIP Captain Molly

In the 1776 Battle of Fort Washington in NYC, Captain Molly (Margaret Corbin) replaced her husband after he was killed. Subsequently, she became the first American woman to receive a pension for military service. To honor her, DAR got her remains moved in 1926 to a grave at West Point. Unfortunately, the remains are not hers. Rededication ceremony to be held in May 2018.

Off-topic: New $1billion U.S. embassy in London was initiated in 2008. Paid for, in part. by selling old (current) embassy to the Qatari royal family. New embassy was to have an innovative solar power system, but they couldn’t make it work so it doesn’t.

Informative article from The Guardian. TG is liberal so contains some snark against America and Trump but still is good. https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2017/dec/13/us-embassy-proves-a-catalyst-for-15bn-nine-elms-regeneration-project
