I’m going to miss his greeting in Chat, “Helleaux Gracie Deere.”

  6. Shifra says:

Waldo was a sweet and gentle soul, as everyone in chat could see. He loved puns, and he was so delighted whenever a “good one” popped up in chat.

For the past six years, I have been greeting him in chat with “Helleaux Waldeaux.” And now I say, “RIP, Waldo, you will be sorely missed.”

    Thanks, Idaho Karen, for posting.

Oh, this put tears in my eyes. Waldo was such a supportive, encouraging, kind and clever friend. Vintageport and I were talking about it via Twitter and realized how evident it was to both of us that James was a very good man. This community is a real blessing. Prayers for the man behind the Calvin and Hobbes avatars and the quick wit.

Thank you for passing on the news, Karen. Hugs.

Thank you for posting this Karen. I’d normally bumped it up, but when we do so we lose all the already existing comments, so I’m torn πŸ™ I did speak about Waldo in the Weekend Special Report, and have commented on his Facebook page. Like everyone in family you never expect them to pass away, so when it happens it’s always a shock. He’s been such a loyal TAM and good friend to everyone. He will be missed :…(

I was able to snag a picture of Waldo with a baby from his timeline and confirmed it with the woman who posted it that it was her baby. Her comment was so sweet… She took him to work and Waldo would go right to the car and ask how he was being treated, give him a “high 5” and tell him to come to Waldo if mom gave him grief. But he always asked her what he could do to make her job easier. (Somewhat paraphrased from her post)

He was holding her baby close and his face was obscured – but a very lovely picture of his sweetness to the child and its mom.

Hi Tammy – how about a separate article rather than ‘bumping’? That way the comments won’t be lost… K πŸ™‚

It is heartbreaking to lose one of our own, and Waldo was so very special to us. Everyone loved Waldo.

Rest well, my friend, until we meet again.

Jaques had a very wry and pithy humor. He contributed a lot to the Tam Chat atmosphere and I feel the poorer for never having had the joy of meeting him in person. God’s blessings on his family and may he rest in peace.

Oualdeaux was one of the first welcomers to me in the chatroom. He was
quite the friendly punner.I’m sorry he passed. Hope he finds peace.
    God Bless Wally.

Waldo – a gentleman of distinction. May his wit continue in all of us TAMS. RIP my cohort, RIP.

  17. Kitten says:

I’m still stunned by the sudden passing of our dear and faithful TAMchat friend. James (Waldo) was aptly nicknamed PunMaster in the chat room for his uncanny ability to quickly create a clever and humorous pun for any given topic. Always kind, always cheerful, always hopeful, we will miss you Oualdeaux, always.

My prayers are with his family and loved ones. May God be with them, and give them peace and strength.

  18. Kitten says:

The day before I learned of James’ passing, I was in chat and made what I thought was a brilliant pun. I looked around for Waldo’s approval. When I didn’t see him, I said “Where’s Waldo?” Now I know, he was looking down at us. πŸ™‚

With a heavy heart and grateful soul, I toast to Oualdeaux with the blessings and prayers of Psalm 91, knowing he is in Heaven, peaceful and at one. What a gift he was to our TAMily. God bless you, Oualdeax, may we carry on in your honor, as well. XO

  20. WalkStar says:

I didn’t know his Facebook page but if appropriate, I’d like to see it. As my husband says, “We’re only on loan to each other.” Hugs, TAMs!

Karen, thanks for starting this thread and what a beautiful thread it is. Ah, a TAM’s heart really is romantic and it is open for all to see. Like many of you, I participate on other boards on the interweb tubes, and each board has it’s cycles; its comings and goings, risings and fallings and births and deaths. If there is a action point in the tears, it must be this. The brief and undefined time we all have on this earth must not be squandered. We must love each other deeply and influence the world according to that love.
