Did Obamacare intentionally deny subsidies on non-state exchanges? Yes!

This video clip is interesting. It shows Jonathan Gruber, an architect of Obamacare, explaining in 2012 that the tax credits were ONLY for state-run exchanges. This was done intentionally to give states incentive to set up those exchanges. Of course, these days, he says this was a typo, and his earlier definitive statement was a “mistake”.

Column discusses Arizona gov’ts 2010 inquiry as to what would happen if Arizona did not expand Medicaid per Ocare. HHS response, we may deny all federal Medicaid support then. Column points out that that went before the Supreme Court and SCOTUS told HHS, No you can’t do that (punish a State on existing funding for not following new encouragement). Column’s conclusion is; so here was an instance where Ocare was acknowledged as setup to punish a State, therefore don’t say that the law couldn’t possibly have been written that way.
