Speech of the Year: Johns Hopkins Neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson

From yesterday's National Prayer Breakfast. This is great on so many levels. First, Obama has to sit through the whole thing and looks like he's wet his diaper. Carson was born into abject poverty in Detroit and worked his way out. Warns of the danger of political correctness and attacks on 1st amendment. Bashes Obamacare. Discusses debt and cultural degradation with a warning from the Roman Empire. This guy should be President. He makes Obama look very, very small and insignificant.

Darn! I was just about to post this. This is a terrific speech. Watch Obama when Dr Carson talks about health care – very interesting.

Dr. Carson is indeed an inspiration–and now a rebuke–to modern AmeriKa.

If you want to see another couple great speeches, search YouTube for the Eric Metaxis’ (*Bonhoeffer* author) 2012 prayer breakfast speech. The mighty O was forced to not only sit through it and listen to the whole thing–obviously pointed at him–but he had to act gracious and polite too. Metaxis manages to include some humor; Christians are not all the priggish Church Lady.

The other fantastic speech that leaps to mind is Mother Teresa’s delivered at the UN in 1985 to an audience that included Billy Jeff. Diligent searching will turn up audio and/or transcripts.
