Hawking Seeks Answers on Web

NEW YORK — Some questions even stump Stephen Hawking.

The famed British astrophysicist and bestselling author has turned to Yahoo Answers, a new feature in which anyone can pose a question for fellow internet users to try to answer. By Friday afternoon, nearly 17,000 Yahoo users had responded.

Hawking’s question: “In a world that is in chaos politically, socially and environmentally, how can the human race sustain another 100 years?”

Personally, I would have liked him to define “chaos.” After all, I think we’d all look more bleakly at this question 70 years ago. Comparatively, we’re in better shape now because of what we know. The answer, of course, does rely somewhat on who is in charge of the planet–Leftist MalNars who believe humanity is the problem and should be destroyed, or anyone else.

In the event you feel like pontificating, here’s the Yahoo Answers page with Dr. Hawking’s question.

Some funny answers there. I would like to tell Hawking that we will sustain another 100 years just as we have the last 6,000. Life will find a way. But seriously, I understand Hawking thinks we need to move to another planet. I suggest we send a group of pioneers to Pluto that include Howie Dean, Barbara Boxer, good ol Teddy Kennedy, Madeline Notbright, John Murtha and Nancy Pelosi for starters. Let them explore and see if they can reproduce and if the air quality can sustain human life. Al Gore can be the captain of the ship. That would rid the earth of some of the MalNars who are definitely part of our worlds problems.

I’d like to add something to life will find a way, that sounds way to secular. Life will find a way with the help of God the creator who put us here.

Chaos has always been the default condition of human beings. It is not chaos, but an excess of order that will kill us off.

Probably the same way we have for thousands of years under similar chaos Steven.

Excuse me for another drive-by comment: an example. Currently we see European birthrates in severe decline, not even at the replacement level. Why? Not because of war, poverty or environmental degradation, certainly. Most Europeans live in safety and material comfort in orderly states with controlled, if sluggish, economies and a plethora of social services. Chaos isn’t killing them off; the social anemia of post-Christian statism is.

The Eagle has landed! We will survive only by the grace of God. He created the World and has set a Day that it will end. We will survive until that Day and then there will be a new world order.

Tammy’s right, what does he mean exactly by chaos? Since there is no objective measure I’d rather just assume he’s referring to the massive glob of chaos in his mind. How depressing for him.

Just proves the old proverb (or at least it should be an old proverb)

“Geniuses can be the biggest idiots”

(expertise in one area doesn’t translate to understanding in another is a less Yogi Berra-ish way of saying the same thing)

(Let’s not forget that one of the “smartest” US Presidents was most likely President James Earl Carter (yet probably also the biggest idiot to ever hold the office))

Steveok-love what you said…wish I had said it first.

XWL-your comment brought this verse to my mind.
II Tim. 3:7 “Ever learning and never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.”

To all who wonder “what is chaos?” IMHO, I guess I must ask who writes our music? Those who seek to define for others what this means, it now seems to me, are overly concerned with the perceptions of others.

I am a mom of a son now 19 who I have had a single message toward all these years, “Stay on Purpose.” And always look for ways to lighten the moments of doubt and depression.

A friend of mine once wrote:

    “Good morning.

I will be handling all problems today.

I do not need your help.

    Have a miracle day.”

    Blessings.
