On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, World War 1 came to an end. Veterans’ Day is now when we recognize and honor all who serve, and those soldiers who paid the ultimate price to keep our nation safe and free.

There is truly no way to thank them enough, to illustrate to the generations of families whose tables have been forever missing a loved one. We can, however, let them know that the sacrifice and service of our troops and their loved ones will never be forgotten, is profoundly appreciated, and we will work to make sure their sacrifice was not made in vain.

For more information about Veterans Day, and events for today and through next week, visit the Department of Veterans Affairs. Pajamas Media also has an excelletn roundup of news and blogosphere commentary.

And there are a couple of ways you can directly help our veterans, including those serving in the War Against Radical Islam. Operation Gratitude send care packages to the troops, and Project Valour IT (HT LGF) provides voice-activated laptops to our wounded soldiers. Both are excellent efforts and worthy of your whole-hearted support.

Let me close with a simple but deeply-felt thank you to all who have served and have paid an exraordinary personal price to keep this remarkable nation free. You have liberated hundreds of millions of people, save tens of millions of lives, and preserved an idea, a dream, that remains the hope for humanity. Nothing we can say will ever be enough, but we will try, all of our lives, to somehow convey our gratitude.

Attended the Veterans Day Parade here in San Diego. What an emotional experience. I was moved to tears numerous times during the 2 hours just contemplating what these remarkable men and women had endured in their service to this country. I spoke to one Vietnam Vet who told me how much it meant to him to witness the crowd applauding every single unit/veteran that passed by. I was filled with such gratitude and pride. It was a blessing to be there.

Oh ,Tammy , anytime. It was , and remains still, a pleasure to serve you. My now up to six family members have taken the fight to the bastards and at least two of them are scheduled for a return engagement.

It’s the family business. I wish my dad were here to see it, too.

There is no way to truly express our gratitude to all of these magnificent heroes that served so that we all enjoy the freedom that we do today!

Those who actively dishonor the military and it’s people should be ashamed…but they aren’t which says much compared with these brave souls!
