You’ve seen these before–an ad strip with links to various things and companies. By assessing words used in your blog, the machine is supposed to figure out what ads you readers are possibly interested in. Obviously, nuance, context and background are things the ad machine doesn’t quite understand. I’m getting quite a kick out of the ad links it’s chosen so far. Just think, now with one click you can get your “Tammy and the Bachelor and the Doctor!” movies. But what about “Tammy and the Single Girl and the Doctor (Who’s Also a Single Girl)” movies? And all that Tammy Wynette stuff you’ve been jonsing for.

Let’s hope once it has time to assess the whole site, we should see ads that you may be more customized for us, so it’s worth keeping an eye on.

This first test banner is in the left hand column.

Please let me know what you think of this, as I remain on the hunt for a little extra revenue for the Tammy Blog.

I think it is a great idea! Absolutely nothing wrong with a profit center. Actually, I am quite curious to see what google has in store for us, this could indeed prove itself to be very interesting..So far, they have us down pretty well. Now if we see tasers ads, then I know they are on to us..LOL. Fantastic Idea..and remind us again about your kitty to the left; just added my few to the till. Have a great weekend Tammy, and try and get some rest..Rachel

I agree with TRINITY. What ever helps you guys indirectly helps me. As “Big Daddy” said 50 years ago “money is the mothers’s milk of politics”. It also makes everything else work. Money is not the root of all evil; its the love of money that is.

For Easterners Big Daddy was the most powerful politican in the West in the 50’sand 60’s til Ronnie won in 66.

A little extra revenue never hurt anybody. Good idea. It will be fun to see how the choices evolve over time.

And Trinity makes a good point. “The Kitty” is easy to overlook. Why don’t you put good old Carmen in the Catwoman’s place whenever the coffer gets low. People will surely notice that.:)

The ads that Google generates on my site are a riot (based on the page text). It’s like comic relief built in to each page!

Gee, I have my choice between the Pentagon Gun Save, Tammy Bruce DVDs, and Tammy Wynette CDs. I can understand the first two. The third, however, I would replace with The Avengers DVDs with Dame Diana Rigg. Now that would be the perfect combo!!!
