One Biggest Celebrity in the World doesn’t want to overshadow the other Biggest Celebrity of the World. How nice of her.

One of my favorite shows, BBC’s “Top Gear” host Jeremy Clarkson on the increasing resentment of the successful by “Britain’s obese and stupid underclass.” Yes, and when resent of the successful takes over, that’s when a nation collapses from withing. Clarkson, as usual, pulls no punches.

Rule #1 for the DNC drinking game: Anytime Obama says “hope” or “change”, take a half-shot.

#2: A full shot for “yes we can.”

#3: Anytime Michelle degrades Barry, take a shot.

I never cease to be amazed at how easy it is for multi-millionaires with no concept of how the average person lives to decide THEY know exactly what’s best for ME.

    Step off, Dope-rah.

pretty much the only bright side (besides that obama will be defeated) in voting for mccain- he recognizes genius when he hears it. ABBA are the greatest pop group ever. everyone from heavy metal heads to the most grinding industrial bands ( like throbbing gristle- who always loved ABBA admittedly and unreservedly) know they are the bomb.

I find the situation in Georgia to be disturbing, I mean REALLY disturbing. There is no stuffing this genie back in the bottle. Russia (and the rest of the enemies of civilization) now fully understand that it’s perfectly OK to prefabricate some dispute with a small neighboring country, send in your own peace keepers, followed by your tanks. The United States will then swat you on the nose with a rolled up copy of Condoleezza Rice’s resume and persuade you through high powered diplomatic means to sign a ceasefire which is worth about as much as John Edwards’ word.

Meanwhile, the citizens of Georgia await deliverance or at least some substantive help from us. Silly Georgians! They somehow thought that allying themselves with us would mean that if someone invaded them (say like Iraq invaded Kuwait), America would step in and face down the aggressor. I know, I KNOW, it’s not like we’re not doing anything, we did fly their 2,000 troops back from Iraq (the ones they had sent there to support our efforts). And we’ve sent medical supplies, food, and tents, which was the humanitarian thing to do. I’m sure the Georgians are grateful for the support, though I suspect they’d hoped for more. I also suspect that the next time we ask for volunteers to send troops to assist in one of our projects (to borrow a Russian phrase), the Georgians (if there are still Georgians) might not be so quick to thrust their collective hand into the air.

I’m ashamed of us. John McCain declared that we are all Georgians. Are we really?

Here are some links to organizations that are on the ground in Georgia and who could use our financial donations. It’s the least we can do!

    World Vision

America is no longer a nation of vigor, daring and optimism. The decline set in years ago, but the last eight years were pivotal in our history. It’s turning out badly. Bush had one gutsy outburst followed by stupendous and persistent incompetence. Western Europe became effete long before we did. The despots of the world see their opportunity and are wasting no time seizing it.

Decline doesn’t mean the end although I must admit I am seriously worried. Madmen are arming themselves with nuclear weapons. China has surpassed us in manufacturing. Our public educational system is a babysitting service more interested in turning out politically correct parrots than the technologically skilled citizens on which our future depends. We are importing poverty, illiteracy and disease from our southern neighbors. Our government has obligated us to debt for generations. The ridiculous hoax of global warming is being successfully perpetrated to enlarge the power of bureaucrats over the minutiae of our lives.

My heart goes out to ordinary people everywhere who, like me, simply want to live an insular quiet life. When the darker realities of the world literally come crashing down on their heads, it’s natural to want to send humanitarian aid. I’ve done so in the past. Think of me what you will, but this time I’m going to be callous. American generosity is expected and when given it is belittled as not enough. Let the pompous, self-righteous Europeans look after their own this time. Instead of sending a few bucks to once again buy bandages and sandwiches for the victims of a screwed up world, especially in Europe, I’m sending the money to Allen West. He and others like him are the best way to save America and in turn the world.

In case anyone missed it here’s the video of Georgian President, Mikheil Saakashvili at his joint press conference with Condoleezza Rice this morning. It is a very good, sometimes emotional account of the events of the past many days.
