If you’re looking for Good Sportsmanship here, you’re in the wrong place. I’m here to root for us and against everyone else, especially the filthy, genocidal pit of Commie China. China can Echo Sierra and lose at the same time. They did both in basketball. Maybe we can throw some melamine into that sierra while we’re at it.

    Tammy,
I voted *Yes, I’m watching for the athletes* in your survey. We can’t let the Commies keep us from doing what we do best, which is kicking the ass. Our guys and gals work hard year after year giving everything they’ve got to represent America and our greatness. Athletics is just another thing that America rules in.
We rock. Go freedom. Go USA.

I didn’t watch the game, but I sure did reading the article about the game online this morning. No good sportsmanship here! First thing that came to my mind while reading about it was an old, not politically correct, probably banned in all 57 states (isn’t that how many Mr. O says we have?), football cheer we used to holler in high school. Went something like this:

Hit ’em again, hit ’em again harder HARDER!

I hope we woop ’em everytime we compete against ’em!

I’m also watching the olympics, mostly online. It’s beautiful. I’m picking and choosing the events I want to see, I get to see everything without cutaways for endless commercials. The commentary is typed in on a sidebar, not spoken, which has made things even more fun…..new experience for the ex-athletes NBC has hired. Oh, one big strike against NBC; for I think the 6th or 7th time, I found my way to the Canadian Broadcasting Co. to view the opening ceremonies. Once again, a single host, Peter Mansbridge (anchor the the very well done “The National” newscast) kept his commentary short and simple, informing us of what was on the screen. No endless stories and chattering just to hear his own voice ala Costas and the rest. Excellent coverage you could actually watch and enjoy. It’s no wonder NBC always tries to block its access.

Did anyone see the men’s swim team beat France last night?! Watch the replay if you didn’t, it was nothing short of amazing. I was yelling at the tv “you can do it, you can do it!!!” Heart-pounding! Tears streaming down my face.

We shouldn’t have boycotted in 1976. The Olympics is the only place left where we still show the world we are the happiest bunch of ass-kickers around.

I’m watching and yes of course China still Echo Sierras. That’s how I voted.
    :o)

The Mens 4×100 swim relay was THE greatest moment in sports I have ever seen ! I can’t believe he ran that french dude down…amazing ! Go USA

Tink – that was 1980 when we boycotted the Moscow games (thanks to wishy-washy Jimmy Carter, what a shock). We dod OK in the ’76 Games at Monreal, 94 Medals in all.
