Tammy, I like one of the ideas that you had.

Celebrating the inauguration of the mysoginist messiah by having sea kitten tacos for breakfast, lunch and dinner seems like more fun than starting our own stupid cult.

    On Bush:

Politically speaking, Bush shows up for me as the Loyal Opposition or, should be. I’d rather he called himself a moderate Democrat, a patriotic Liberal. Did they ever exist or, were they always the rabid anti-American Marxists they are these days? He hasn’t used his bully pulpit to proselytize the blessings of Capitalism as a bulwark against a propaganda onslaught. He allowed himself to be buried in political and historic lies. He lost the propaganda war against him and our Republic by the treasonous News Media and Democrat Party Establishments across the land.

As a human being I continue to regard him as decent and truthful one but not up to the onslaught of national self destructiveness we continue to face. I never minded his Texas cowboy manner. I don’t like that he allowed himself to be shouted down by lies. He had the power to cast shame onto our common detractors but instead showed a humble modesty, aloofness or respect to those who make false noise. His over confident silence shows up as low confidence, lack of conviction, lack of skill. In contrast Reagan was up to the political war of philosophies because he had not only the strength of conviction but also the very important skills to communicate.

In the days that immediately followed 911 Bush rose to the challenges. When the domestic political attacks and lies gushed in after the Iraq invasion began, Bush offered little resistance. This I believe is the bottom line in how and why he was perceived so poorly long before he capitulated to his Treasury Secretaries recent demands. It is why, regardless of the actual scorecard of victories and defeats, Bush has low ratings.

The number one sign, the appendix, is of course incorrect. Modern science ( ie within the last three years) has found several very important uses and interactions of the appendix with other organs in the body. Like tonsils, while we can live with them, it is better for the immune system to have the appendix than not.

    Re: George W. Bush comments

    It confirms two things:
    1. Paulson provided bad advice.
    2. Bush’s inaction on meaningful immigration reform has been one of his great weaknesses. Hey, he was preoccupied, but it is important. He’s not the only one guilty… it’s been reduced to a murmur given the current political climate.

I, also, do not wish to join the crowd of those who would throw GWB under the bus. The left does those things. We should not. Barnes makes good points, though I would disagree with one or two. I agree that GWB should have shown more boldness to shout down his critics who were quick to lie about him and his decisions. Yes, it projected an image of weakness rather than a needed strength. He also didn’t ascribe to consistent conservative financial principles. But, rather than join the choruses of derision and Monday-morning-quarterbacking against him, might we back the lens outward and look at the larger perspective? As someone on another blog suggested, that we play devil’s advocate and suggest alternatives? What if we’d let Gore win in ’00 or Kerry in ’04? What would we have to day? The wouldda-couldda-shoulddas will kill us. And may yet. In any case, it’s gonna be a long road back. How long will it take before “buyer’s remorse” hits like a bomb? Hope BHO does some things right. But we’re not optimistic, are we? GWB has far more positives than negatives. In spite of his late-game turnovers/interceptions. At least he hasn’t groped and diddled in the Oval Office this last eight years, like someone we know…

Personally, I have mixed feelings about Bush but I am sure of one thing.

Four years from now, most Americans will look back and think that W wasn’t really all that bad after they see what Barkey has in store for us.

God I am glad I live in Texas. Our Governor stated on Monday the debate about the border is over and it is now time for TEXAS to secure it’s own border. And you know what, Governor Rick Perry will do it! If another Texan gets in the White House, it will be Perry and this nation will finally get what it needs, A REAL LEADER! If only California’s, Arizona’s, and New Mexico’s Governors had such cahones.

  8. RobK says:

Oh yeah Georgy? Well, don’t let the door hit your backside on the way out! And Georgy, I chucked my Government in 2005 because of your lack of action because I had to save MYSELF! I then went out and bought every Teddy Roosevelt book I could find and the words of Teddy renewed faith in my country. Bye, bye Liberal Bush, so long Liberal McCain, you won’t succeed Liberal Obama, so in 2012 we will see the end of an “error”. God I pray our country makes it until then.

Darwinian Chaos theory: Chaos created order and order evolved in response to chaos… yeah… that works.
