Somali pirates drown with ransom
Six members of a group of Somali pirates who hijacked and later released a Saudi-owned oil tanker are reported to have drowned along with their share of a $3m ransom.
The pirates were among eight men whose boat overturned off the coast of Kenya in a storm as they left the Sirius Star following a two-month standoff that ended on Friday, a pirate and a relative of one of the dead men said.
“Six of our boys perished at the sea while coming from the released Saudi supertanker,” Mohamed Said told the AFP news agency.
“The small boat that was carrying those killed and eight who survived was overloaded and at high speed, we have been told by the survivors.
“They were afraid of a chase from outsiders [foreign naval forces] who invaded Somalia waters,” he said.
The group’s $300,000 share of the ransom was also lost, he said.

*Update The body of one pirate washed ashore with $153,000 in his pocket. Early reports said six drowned. Later reports say five.

1. Someone’s making a case for the UN Human Rights Commission.
2. Somali sovereignty for pirates? But admitting to being chased which would be a continuum of the criminal action. (Gotta love that line “invaded Somali waters”.)
3. Are the drowned martyrs being consoled by virgin mermaids?
4. Somali pirates can’t swim.

Sometimes the universe does come together in the perfect harmonic convergence.

If we take these pirates as would-be Islamic Fanatics, then think of what it says. There’s no way they served the ‘ummah’, losing the money for the ‘jihad’. Imagine what their famililies and home villages will suffer in ‘face’.
Are they going to have one of their mass mourning funerals with the perps pictures high above the heads of the raging indolents?
‘Inshallah’, they will be remembered for what they did and how they went – bribing their way into Heaven and the company of ‘Allah, may he wade in shallow waters!’
