Jindal’s speech was a major disappointment and he should fire all his handlers.
If he’d have talked tough like he does in interviews then he may have gotten somewhere with me.
No conservative voter that I know is looking for Mr. Nice Guy.
If he keeps acting like that, he won’t even get picked for VP.

  2. KWH says:

I want ALL socialist programs, policies and pork spending to F-A-I-L! Had I thought the big O was the right man, I would have voted for him. He is not and I did not. As far as I am concerned, he’s already failed, we just won’t see how bad for a few years.

I don’t want to have to choose Palin, Jindal, Romney, or any other Republican right this minute. I’d prefer they all be given a chance to show us who they are and what they bring to the conservative table. It might also serve us well if we avoided forming a circular firing squad . . . I recall a saying from early days as a Christian that noted that Christians are the only group that shoots their own wounded. I guess maybe it also applies to conservatives. I’m not prepared to accept or reject Jindal just yet anymore than I was prepared to reject Sarah after her interview with Charles Gibson. I was disappointed in the entire Republican response to the SOTU speech. Only part of my disappointment is with Jindal. I do wish the old guard DOPers would get the heck out of the way and stop trying to jam ANYONE down our throats!

I am sure Bobby Jindal is a nice guy – here it is, BUT – his response to Obama’s speech the other night was ineffective. Why doesn’t Michael Steele get Sarah Palin involved for goodness sake? She is articulate, intelligent, has a great presence, and can bring the Conservative message to millions. Why will no one strongly challenge the absolute madness going on in Washington? The deficit with all of the bailouts and earmarks is devastating. The market keeps dropping and there are a bunch of corrupt politicians selling this wonderful country down the river! We need Sarah, unafraid of the “good old boy” network to articulate the conservative message and quit pandering to Obama because he’s black. I don’t care about his skin color – he is a socialist and is succeeding in turning our country into a socialist entity. I suggest that we contact Michael Steele – Phone: 202-863-8700; Fax: 202-863-8820 Email: [email protected] and beg him to move the Conservative agenda forward and get Sarah Palin involved as much as possible. If we have another response like the one by Jindal, we can forget making any gains in 2010. Bring Rick Santelli into the mix – he has inspired a movement. Let’s build on that with Sarah Palin in the forefront.

When you have an audience like there was after more of the Obama Glo – you need someone that is going to resonate the message and attract more people to Conservatism. Sorry, Jindal is a great guy but we need a “bright shining star” if we are going to win back seats in 2010 and the White House with Sarah Palin as our President in 2012.

  5. CinderellaMan says:

Well, then count me as an idiot, because I DO want his fascist policies to fail.

Senator Byrd of West Virginia, a longtime democrat and Constitutional scholar, has even warned Obama that his creation of Czar positions to do the work once assigned to Senate chairs is wrong:

One minute we need a fence, then we find our courts finding on behalf of people who got through pre-fence – not to mention the arrest and conviction of our border officers. Then, this Amazon, a former governor of a border state, currently occupying the position of Director, Homeland Security announces the need for help on the “Blurder”. Yes, blurr – der, as everybody wants to re-define the issue.

  7. IanTrouble says:

Something to think on for the superstitious amongst us.
What are the chances that Obama has his inauguration in January and the next TWO months BOTH have a friday the 13th?
I’m just saying… What are the odds? Auspicious? Hmm, the original Friday the 13th saw the end of the most democratic and forward thinking organization the world had ever seen prior to the USA.
Let’s not let that happen to US!

  8. Robert Graham says:

I swear this is absolutely true. Back in the mid 80’s, an idiot in Duquense Pa. was found by his bed ridden, elderly mother in the kitchen of the home they shared. The whole kitchen had erupted in a quick ‘flash fire’ and her son was dead. All the walls were blackened and the corpse had sustained the same pattern. The man died of asphyxiation due to burns to his nostrils and throat. As far as the coroner could tell, the son, who many considered had no cheese on his cracker, had a problem with fuel line freeze up in his car. His remedy was to drain the gas from his car and keep it warm in the oven. Another thing this guy did was poke a hole on the bottom of his gas tank and used medical silicone to seal it. Apparently, he did remove the gas from his tank on more than one occasion. However this was the beginning of a sub-zero cold spell.

His mother had not seen him for two days and she heard the phone ringing several times. She made her way out of bed to answer the phone to find out it was his son’s employer and they were concerned about his absence. Get this, he was a well paid, senior phlebotomoist at a local hospital who never missed a day in ten years and had an Associate Degree.

I just know he must have had a Mondale or a Dukakis bumper sticker.

  9. RobK says:

MARLEED, you sound pretty miserable. Are you still searching under those rocks for a Conservative in the Democrat party? Wow, that really is the search for the holy grail. Stop attacking great leaders like Mitt Romney. Did you even hear his concession speech last year when he withdrew from the race? It was one of the greatest speeches I’ve heard in a VERY long time. There’s our leader! If you want to fix the Democrat party, what you need to do is get rid of the weeds (Liberals) that have blocked the garden of the Democrat party and move from there. We Republican Conservatives are done with people who have walked into our Conservative ranks because they don’t have the nads to clean up their own party. Unbelievable.

  10. Shawmut says:

The national insanity has produced more street-corner or locker-room economists than insane asylums have produced Napoleons.
I agree with Churchill; “… that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handles.”
