I guess Europe didn’t realize how buffoonerish their social democratic regimes make them look and sound until a couple of visits by O’Bama.
These recent elections, with a merkedly rightish turn, are only as valuable as perceived by people (not necessarily in government) who want to make a correction here, in the US. Here’s a chance for an element in the US (GOP?) to create domestic and foreign policy issues; using the example of current European voters and interpreting it into contempt for Obama’s desire to implement domestic police-state (pervasive) government. Listen, many up-and-coming European voices are warning: “Don’t go where we’ve been.”
We can’t trust this to government, obviously, but if people of influence (like those hitherto un-converted academics) could apply a reasonable pedestrian dialect, they’d do well in the debate. (my cousin, Terry suggests a Patton). And it need not cost a lot (serve it as desert at these “Tea Parties”), and would be great invite to Americans into the dialogue they’ve hitherto been snobbed out of. (In fact, the cost could be carried by those who will be obsessed to combat it – then expose that very fact as their desperation.)
See, these elections are reactionary – finally; Think: Wilders, van Gogh, Fortyn. On the other hand, along with Somali’s, Nigerians and Kenyans, we could face an influx of Euro-Algerians, Euro-Moroccans, Euro-Tunisians coming to the US as political refugees fleeing the European conservative oppression. (Oh, they already have the “Visa-Waiver” privilege.)

BHO announced that they have created 150,000 new jobs, and will “accelerate” the process of creating 600,000 new jobs in the near future.

How does this square with the fact that last month the unemployment numbers were at 8.4%, and this month it’s increased to 9.4%… the highest since the Great Depression I believe?

I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a “community organizer,” except that you have actual responsibilities. I might add that in small towns, we don’t quite know what to make of a candidate who lavishes praise on working people when they are listening, and then talks about how bitterly they cling to their religion and guns when those people aren’t listening”

It is this one paragraph, one of the best political
lines ever delivered IMO,that brought down the wrath of the Left on Sara Palin. They hate her beacause she is us. The Repubs would do well to hitch their wagon to her. Will they?
