My Mayor Daley wants the Olympics because he says it will bring $22 billion to Chicago. A recent independent analysis says $5 billion. He promises that he will force contractors to have insurance for cost overruns (without transparency, we will never know). They will be building temporary structures for the Olympics, is that economic growth (like paying people to dig trenches and paying more people to fill them in)? What about the opportunity cost of this? A recent Chicago Tribune survey says half of Chicagoans do not want this (probably the ones paying taxes here). Will this be Daley’s Waterloo?
Uhm, Chicago? I don’t think so. That would be the ultimate “spreading the wealth” because one, you can’t take a handgun to defend yourself, so your pocketbooks would be taken on a daily basis and the wealth spread around. Next city please.

although i have no sympathy for the manson girls, most of the murders were done by the men but the females are heaped with the most scorn and are the ones largely identified with these evil crimes. susan atkins is the monster and watson is just another born again christian in jail because he was stupid as a drug addled kid. the only manson murderer ever paroled was a male- clem grogan and there was nary a peep about it.

It is so infuriating to see how this man/brat enjoys the perks of being president and disgracefully shirks the responsibilities of the presidency. Most glaring of all, his duty as Commander in Chief. The only reason he spoke of Afghanistan today, was because he was shamed into it! No, TCB-ing for him is not being a leader; TCB-ing for this punk is galavanting to Copenhagen to lobby so that Chicago gets the Olympics. His city; where last week a young man was brutally beaten to death by other young men not even out of their teens!
As an aside, don’t be surprised if the 2016 Olympics in Chicago are actually a done deal. And Obama is only going to Copenhagen to make himself look like king of the world, and simply takes public credit for getting them. Like he told that dim-bulb, Reid: “I have a gift, Harry.”

He totally ignores the added danger he has put our troops in when he and his mustachioed-punk attorney general, Holder, decided to PC the war in Afghanistan. So he doesn’t read General McChrystal’s report. His general. He doesn’t have to read the generals report because he truly believes he knows better. So if he ignores Americans and other Westerners serving in Afghanistan, why should he care about the primitive and backwards culture of the place?
The brutality towards women in Afghanistan is well documented. No doubt Obama and Madame de FargeO know the story. But, what about the brutalization of children, there? Anyone here think he’s seen this little ditty of a video.
