OMG!! That political cartoon! The “reindeer”! Oh Santa, what’s happened! That one is hilarious and it cuts like a knife.

WOW, Mike Lester is a prophet!

George Orwell’s quote, “Speaking the Truth [Or in this case drawing the Truth] in times of universal deceit is a revolutionary act,” certainly comes to mind.

Good point, Nativevoice. I understand Jesse Kelly’s point on this one. While I love Sarah, the endorsement of Fiorina was one of those things that left a bad flavor in my mouth. I understand why she did what she did as well, but if you are voting for the principled conservative, Fiorina it ain’t. Is Fiorina better than Boxer? Absolutely. Even my broom is better than boxer. Can she win? Sure. On the other hand, I’m not sure Chuck DeVore was running a winning campaign, to be honest though. It sort of reminded me of Tom McClintock running for CA governor: great candidate, poor campaign. Is he better than Boxer? Yes. Can he win? I’m not so sure.

I haven’t thrown Sarah under the bus because of Fiorina, but it seems like Jesse actually did. I follow the adage: never fall in love with a politician because they will eventually break your heart. Even with this ‘faux pas” if you want to call it like that, she is still, among the possible candidates, far superior to the others.

Jesse did not throw Palin under the bus in his comment. Was it strong? Yes. Was it bashing? No. Do I agree with him 100% on this? No, but I do understand his frustration with a couple endorsements, though I see where Palin is coming from as well.

Jesse did say that from the current line up, she’s the person he’d support and unless a new and fresh face emerged, then Sarah Palin was the person he would vote for. That’s not throwing someone under the bus. There were a lot of people upset about Fiorina – so much so that Palin responded to the concerns/complaints. I don’t find Fiorina to be a RINO (though I do wonder about some of her immigration stands) and think she will beat Boxer – so that puts California into a position of having a Senator that could help deliver CA for Palin in 2012. I think it was a political decision, and I also believe Palin genuinely sees a great deal of good in Fiorina.

I’ll tell you what throwing someone under the bus is: when a co-founder for Tucson Tea Party, who I was once proud to stand with, decides to use his ‘clout’ (ego perhaps?) to run a hit-piece on Jesse questioning his military service, education level, working in the family business (something I thought the GOP supported) even his party affiliation – and all for what? To smear Jesse and somehow get support for the establishment candidate, Jonathan Paton, who thought he could sit in his Lazy Boy and let his name carry him. The aforementioned individual did not have to support Kelly at all, but he didn’t have to engage in Chicago-style tactics either – the very thing we have all grown sick of and protested against a year ago as well as against establishment candidates – like McCain (who threw his support behind Paton today – not a surprise there for those of us who know that Paton is McCain’s finger-puppet).

Unfortunately, the former TTP guy, Paton camp (with McCain’s help big time) and Pima County GOP have been working together to destroy Jesse, who effectively took charge last year in going after Democrat incumbent Gabrielle Giffords’ record, challenging her to public debates she never showed up for and taking over townhalls she cancelled. Paton thought he would win on name recognition and has ran a lazy and extremely ugly campaign. He’s a liar, an arrogant snob, has lost to Giffords before and his votes are duplicitous – he speaks out of both sides of his orifice (take your pick of which one).

It’s infuriating that some who were affiliated with the tea party have grown significant egos, have been co-opted by the local GOP and running with the establishment candidate. I can also tell you that the person who video-taped this piece is someone who has been very public in her hatred of Kelly. Shall I post some of her FB interactions? She attended the appearance solely to try to fish for something to ‘get’ Jesse on for an 11th hour hit – and it failed! BIG TIME! Jesse did not ‘bash’ as the Pima County GOP and the former co-founder of TTP claimed last week – and believe me, the Pima Co. GOP and many of the individuals associated with Paton would not give Palin the time of day if it were not for her fundraising capabilities. They are two-faced, back-stapping liars. I’ve been very proud to tell them so directly.

Allahpundit and Politico have addressed this ‘bashing’ story and see it as I do: not only a feeble attempt to smear Jesse, but if this is a ‘bashing’, it’s very mild – especially when he still lends support.

I’ve also directed comments to Conservatives4Palin about their piece last week which sounds sooooooooooo familiar; you see, everything in that article has been floating all around CD8 and FB for MONTHS! All of those ‘concerns’ have been addressed – including the completely insane accusation that Kelly’s family somehow ‘took’ stimulus dollars; my God! The family business BIDS on projects some of which are government contracts for sewer and road projects. I think our own Pat Ess addressed the stupid Paton lie last week very effectively when she wrote on the campaign’s site in their hit ad against Jesse:

“It’s quite a stretch to conclude the Kelly family supports Big Government and the stimulus bill because they accepted a public works contract which has federal money in it. Would Paton suggest no one should drive on roads repaired using stimulus funds in order to retain anti-Big Government purity? Will Paton not flush his toilet in case the waste goes into federally funded sewer pipes?”

So yes, Conservatives4Palin took the bait from the GOP Gestapo in Tucson.

What is REALLY happening is the Pima Co. GOP has lost tons of money because people are not donating to them; people are wisely donating to their candidates of choice (hence, Jesse is getting more funds than Paton, and Ruth McClung is poised for victory in her district after being ignored by the same Pima Co. GOP sewer rats who were giddy about her primary opponent, Terry Myers, who has a public record on domestic abuse charges & DUIs, & released sexist ads against McClung in the last few weeks). In their desperation, they want to make sure ‘their’ candidate gets in, so they have shamefully engaged in smearing Jesse’s honorable military record, education, youth, having ‘no experience’ – wow! sounds like some of the smears thrown against Palin – not by Jesse at all – but by the GOP, Democrats, media, etc.

Jesse is someone I am proud to know and support. I do know he admires Palin a great deal, and like many, was disappointed with some endorsements. Though I don’t agree entirely with his assessment, I do know that when asked the question, he answered honestly; he didn’t give someone the answer he thought they wanted to hear – he has not done that over the course of his campaign either which is part of the reason even those ideologically opposed to him have come to his defense including a former Obama campaign worker. His campaign has been top-notch with some of the most decent people you could ever want to work with. They have been upbeat and positive -and that is truly a reflection on Jesse and his family.

While we’re talking about videos of Jesse, interesting how this one has been overlooked where he takes Paton to task:

Being that Jesse is also endorsed by Sheriff Joe means a lot; after all, Paton got the endorsement of not only McCain, but pro-amnesty shill Dick Armey.

    • Chuck says:

Thanks for the clarification, Artgal. I wasn’t sure about his Palin stand since he seemed to hesitate on answering a simple question about her capability to be a candidate. That’s why I inferred he had somewhat discarded her, although he said exactly what you said later on. He seems like a good candidate. The Sheriff Joe endorsement speaks volumes, indeed.

      Good luck to him today.
