Something occurred to me last night. Now that we know Obama’s new word for spending is “investment,” let’s take him at his word for just a moment.

Let’s say you’d spent yourself into oblivion and incurred near-bankruptcy level debt for decades. One day you seek the advice of a financial counselor because your new idea is to start investing with your borrowed money. If he had any decency, the advisor would tell you that you were CRAZY.

People in massive debt have no business investing. They should be cutting their lifestyle down to the penny and using all disposable revenue to pay down their mess. That’s what our government should be doing. Investing is fantastic, when you have money. WE HAVE NO MONEY. We are broke. If all of those investments he talked about last night are so necessary, he should have budgeted for them before he completed in bankrupting us.

What’s really pathetic is that we can’t even credit Obama for creativity, since that damned word “investment” is etched in my memory from Bill Clinton’s first SOTU addresses. Guess we shouldn’t be surprised considering Obama turned over a whole press conference on the economy to Big Bad Bill… apparently he kept Bill on as a speech writer and Bill didn’t even share any of his best material for Obama to use.
