Tammy, I hope you’ve stocked up on incandescent bulbs, because presumably you know they’re being phased out of existence by law. The last factories (which are, by the way, here in America) are being closed down, and soon sales will be illegal. Google on keywords “factory”, “closing”, and “light bulb”, and you’ll see a depressing picture.

Personally I’m an efficiency maven, and my natural inclination has been to put fluorescent bulbs in the high-use sockets. But they don’t belong everywhere. They’re wasteful in the low-use sockets, since they cost more, and some rarely-used lights will never pull enough watts to justify the resources used to make the more complicated bulb. Also, in some places you need or want the instant on of an incandescent bulb. On the whole, the law typifies what’s gone wrong in America: Micromanagement and intrusion by bureaucrats who think they’re smarter than us, but in fact they’re just dumb beasts beating the people into submission and doing harm that’s both material and spiritual.

    3rd hour Show/Pre-show:

Let’s spin the Topic Wheel(whiring sounds) and it lands on….(chime)

Light Bulbs!!!—It’s a Chinese/Fannie-Mae Conspiracy! Deliberately and secretly they(GE subcontractors-of course, who else? duh.) manufacture defective bulbs, federal law(felony)requires them to be the only retail replacements available. Houses catch fire, burn down to the ground. Results: More dependents on food stamps/wellfare, etc., and the excess inventory of housing issue solved.

    Pass the Guacamole…

    Ciao’
