My friends and I were wondering today why they don’t even change the words? His state of the union speeches also the verbatim lines. Is it his disdain for us to show how gullible we are? Who on earth would think this a good idea? I’m sure he has myriads of speechwriters anxious for work. Perhaps he wants them on unemployment as well. Mystifying. I’d like to hear the TAM’s ideas on this.

Methinks that he feels that 2012 talk is to different group(s) than 2008 and that being on a national stage doesn’t change that. So seems to me that this reflects his isolation, he doesn’t take advice, he doesn’t seek out other views, he doesn’t live for a future of independent freedom; everything is of the past – his father, colonialism, Alinsky, Islam’s contributions to science, America’s world standing before WWII, the New Deal…
I suppose we can’t accuse DFB of plagiarizing himself, but it is lazy. It also presumes his listeners are too dull to remember 4 years ago.
