And we get an immediate $38,000 a day savings, as I trust he loses that Secret Service protection for his book tour.

Really, he stayed in until Trump appeared inevitable, and perhaps that was the plan all along after Iowa. Trump, after all, needed as many to stay in the race as possible. This also means with the FNC debate tomorrow night we won’t have to wonder every now and then if he’s thinking or has actually passed out.

I admired Dr. Carson very much, but that has been impacted by what can only be described as a charade. I’m glad it’s over.

Ben Carson suspended his campaign for the GOP presidential nomination Wednesday afternoon, bringing his outsider bid for the nomination to an end, officials close to the campaign told Sinclair.

Carson’s campaign released an official statement announcing that he would not be attending the Fox New GOP debate on Thursday.

Carson told supporters that he does “not see a political path forward in light of last evening’s Super Tuesday primary results.”

Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, briefly surpassed now front-runner Donald Trump in nationals polls last year, but rumors of a concession speech began circulating after poor showings in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

After South Carolina’s primary, Carson delivered an address that he called a “just-the-beginning,” speech, not a concession.

As he pressed on to the Nevada caucus and Super Tuesday, ABC News described that “the question everyone,” was asking is, “Why? Why is Ben Carson, the onetime Republican front-runner who is now polling mostly in the single digits, still in the race for the Republican presidential nomination?”

In his statement to supporters Wednesday, Carson said “this grassroots movement on behalf ‘We the People’ will continue.”

“Along with millions of patriots who have supported my campaign for President, I remain committed to Saving America for Future Generations.”

Carson stressed the importance of not departing “from our goals to restore what God and our Founders intended for this exceptional nation.”

“I will discuss more about the future of this movement during my speech on Friday at CPAC in Washington, D.C.”
