The next GOP primary is Wisconsin on April 5 a whole 13 days away, allowing the mice to play (click here for the full primary season calendar). While one might think people having time to think would be bad new for Trump, he always seems to find a way to control the news cycle. We’ll see.
Right now, Cruz is closing the gap, not just in Wisconsin but nationwide. Here’s the latest.
The Hill: Poll: Cruz, Trump neck and neck in Wisconsin
Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are neck and neck in the Wisconsin primary, according to a new poll.
Cruz leads, with 36 percent support, and Trump is right behind, at 35 percent, according to an Emerson College poll released Wednesday. John Kasich trails, with 19 percent.
Many Republicans have called on Kasich to end his campaign out of fear that he could siphon votes away from Cruz.
While the poll does not make clear which candidate the Ohio governor’s supporters would choose if he dropped out, many gave Cruz a high marks.
At the same time, Gov. Scott Walker, himself a former GOP presidential candidate, continues to hint at a coming endorsement.
He highlighted Cruz as the best alternative to Trump in a Wednesday interview.
