Krauthammer on Trump’s super Tuesday victories.

Via Real Clear Politics.

BRET BAIER: The New York Times reporting that major Republican donors and leaders are urging people on a conference call, some 50 people to fund efforts to stop Trump with urgency. Are they too late?

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: You look at the math, you look at the odds, you’d say absolutely, they are too late. It isn’t as if it’s impossible but the math completely in Trump’s favor. This evening looks like it’s going to continue the trend. It’s going to take a major event. A meltdown by Trump and those who would hope for a meltdown, and we’re pointing to the interview he gave about David Duke on Sunday. We’re thinking look, if that doesn’t sink a candidate, and it hasn’t, it doesn’t, Trump is still on the rise, then nothing will. So that’s, I think, just sort of a wing and a prayer.

It’s going to have to be, again, the consolidation behind one candidate. And, thus far, it’s pretty early in the night, it looks as if Cruz is going to have enough to live another day. He’ll come out alive. May not kick him but he will be viable.

OK, I’ll be the first here. Does anyone remember what Rick Perry said in July of last year?
    Here’s the news story:

    http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/rick-perry-gop-must-excise-and-discard-cancer-donald-trump/article/2568769

Perry(though I’m no real fan of his) had it correct then, but was ignored by Rinse Repeatus and the Republican Establishment/Washington Cartel and mocked by everyone else. And all of this BEFORE Trump got into p**sing contests with The Pope, the Mexican Ex-President, et al., The Trump University con job, his clothes being made off shore, etc. There’s a long list of his empty boasts, hypocrisies and personal insults. There never seems to be a ‘final straw’ for the ‘true believers’ and he’s gotten endorsements from Sen.Sessions(!) Sarah Palin(she had her chance), Jimmy Carter and Harry Reid, and now is leading Christie around like a pet dog on a leash. And finally this gem: “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters.” What kind of man says something like this? Even in jest when you’re running for the nomination? Seriously, he has a personality disorder. You want to ignore all of this and want him sitting in the Oval Office? If so, then just stand up and say so and live with your decision. Not me.

What should have happened was the RNC should have called his bluff, said ‘go ahead’ run Independent because even through we’ve damaged our own brand because of our ineptitude and lack of conservative principle, we can’t be associated with this man. Now the RNC is faced with this American political disaster of monumental proportions:

    The election of Hillary Clinton.

Thank you for reading my rant.
