Next Thanksgiving, Skip The Turkey, Eat Tofu. Because… Global Warming!
by Shifra on November 29, 2015Global warming, er, climate change, er, global climate disruption…well, you know what I mean, is responsible for the creation of ISIS, according to John Kerry. It has also been blamed as the cause of… Hitler. And it has also been blamed for many other horrors, such as truffle shortage, walrus stampedes, itchier poison ivy, and sour grapes. So, if you are a concerned citizen of the world, and do not wish to contribute to the rise of another Hitler, or the ceasing of blackbirds singing, then you will consider serving tofu instead of turkey at the next Thanksgiving. Via CBS News: H/T Right Scoop ….Livestock is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, adding about the same amount of emissions...

Disaster Brewing: State Dept Says Syrian Refugees Can Live ‘Wherever They Want’

That’s not who we are,” said our Incompetent-in-Chief. No, Barry, the real “shameful, not American, not who we are” thing is: having you in the WH. Via Washington Examiner: The State Department said Tuesday that it believes state governors have little say over whether they will house refugees from Syria or anywhere else in the world, and that once they arrive, refugees can choose to live in any state they want. “They can ultimately choose wherever they want to go,” State Department spokesman Mark Toner told reporters. The question of refugee rights has come up as many governors have said they would...

But not any more. The new term is “justice-involved youth,” a non-disparaging, government-speak phrase that fits with the Obama administration’s recent push to give people with criminal convictions a second chance to become productive citizens. “The Department of Justice is committed to giving justice-involved youth the tools they need to become productive members of society,” Attorney General Loretta Lynch said in a news release on Monday. Lynch said the Justice Department and the Department of Housing and Urban Development are launching a $1.7-million initiative to help Public Housing Authorities and legal assistance groups...

UN Aims To Eradicate Extreme Poverty, Hunger, Illiteracy, & More
by Pat_S on September 26, 2015The UN, coincident with the Pope’s visit, issued goals to eradicate poverty by 2030. But why stop at that? The Panel believes there is a chance now to do something that has never before been done – to eradicate extreme poverty, once and for all, and to end hunger, illiteracy, and preventable deaths. This would be a truly historic achievement. But we wanted to do more… To do all that and more requires the right people. Thankfully the world has 27 eminent people (John Podesta from U.S. Others listed at end of PDF report.) who are up to the task of outlining a program to achieve the goals. This is the result of their work. A New Global Partnership: Eradicate...

by Shifra on September 25, 2015When Obama, several weeks before the ’08 election, spoke of ‘fundamentally transforming’ the U.S., could any of us have possibly imagined that his real goal would be to lower the U.S. standard of living to that of…Mexico? Via WSJ: California Gov. Jerry Brown has a vision: When it comes to greenhouse-gas emissions, he wants his fellow Californians to emulate North Koreans. Meanwhile, many of Mr. Brown’s fellow Democrats—including President Obama, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders—will settle for putting Americans on a par with residents of Mexico. That’s the essence of the climate-change agenda of America’s most prominent Democrats. They have pledged to cut carbon-dioxide emissions by 80% by 2050, (aka 80 by 50). Their plan will take those emissions to...

by Shifra on August 24, 2015“Nice” work, if you can get it. Via Washington Post: A federal patent examiner racked up more than 18 weeks of pay last year for work he didn’t do, but his manager didn’t notice until he received an anonymous letter claiming the employee only showed up for his job sporadically and turned in work that was “garbage.” The letter turned out to be spot on, according to an investigation released this week by the watchdog for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The examiner, a poor performer for years who was never disciplined, came and went as he pleased, swiping his badge through the turnstile at the patent office headquarters in Alexandria, Va., where he was assigned to work. More Democrat Overregulation: ‘Schedules That Work Act’
by Shifra on July 27, 2015Whenever you hear a Lib spout the words “social justice” or “fairness,” you can be sure that it will not be about justice or fairness.
