Variety reports 21st Century Fox will seek a new home for the comedy series after ABC cancelled it, despite it being their second most-watched comedy, behind only “Modern Family.”

Studio 20th Century Fox Television is looking for a new home for canceled Tim Allen comedy “Last Man Standing.”

Speaking to Variety Thursday, studio presidents Jonnie Davis and Howard Kurtzman said that they were surprised by ABC’s decision to pull the plug on the show.

“That’s the one that’s really an open sore right now,” Davis said. Kurtzman added, “We really were expecting a pickup. The fact that we didn’t get a pickup was a surprise and a disappointment. I think no one was more disappointed than Tim Allen, such a huge star with such a huge following.”

But the series, which was ABC’s second most-watched comedy last season behind “Modern Family,” may not be dead. Asked whether “Last Man Standing” would be shopped to other networks, Kurtzman said, “We’re starting to explore that. If it’s not going to go forward at ABC, of course Jonnie and I are hopeful that we can find another home for it.”

Let’s hope so!

The LEFT does this frequently, I suppose because they are all too stupid to realize that Conservatives watch TV also! I mean, we used to watch Law & Order regularly [when Jerry Orbach was featured] but they finally began to insert political commentary into the dialogue and… it got to be insulting so I quit watching it. It was cancelled not too long afterwards. There was a TV show with Kathy Bates but her attacks on Rush Limbaugh were unbecoming… so I stopped watching. They just don’t get it! I always assume that the Hollywood crowd is Liberal. I can deal with that! However, when they put dialogue into shows that is not only far LEFT in ideology, but assumes the viewers agree—it’s just too much. On Elementary, Sherlock makes a comment about police guns, “tens of millions of people die from their use every day”??? The comment is not factual and a deliberate attack on our 2nd Amendment. Because of the LEFT ideology and their tunnel vision, we hardly watch any mainstream TV anymore. Last Man Standing, Elementary, and NCIS New Orleans [because I like Scott Bakula] are about the final three. Mostly I watch British TV shows on Netflix and Amazon Prime. Just like the absurdity of late night talk show comedians [?]… I won’t watch them because they are openly biased and in many cases, NOT funny. And Hollywood makes films about comic book heroes and I am not interested. It appears the LEFT is equally out of touch as the Democratic Party and clueless as to what middle class American is interested in or watches. As Fox News shifts to the Left, I am left with Fox Business and Lou Dobbs! Love it when Tammy is on.

The only network TV show I have watched in recent memory is “24: Legacy”. Other than that, I have boycotted network TV in its entirety and now only watch classic TV cable channels like Heroes & Icons, MeTV, Cozi, Grit and the like. I refuse to waste a second of my life on current network TV, let alone give my support to it.

Michael Jordan was once asked to give his public support to some Democrat or other. He refused. When asked why, he said, “Republicans buy shoes too.” The Dishonest Liberal Media in general, and network TV in particular, reject this wisdom. And they will continue to bleed viewers as a result.

I started watching Last Standing when I heard Tim’s character mock
climate change & Obama. I thought I heard him wrong but he kept doing it.
But then I heard his “wife” pontificate on the great thing it would be
to have Hilary as President. I guess they threw that in to deny a
    conservative backlash when they cancelled.

Hmmmm…Since I don’t watch TV and haven’t for 20 years (broadcast, cable, or satellite) I never heard of the show. That being said, I’m not surprised that this happened; BTW, Isn’t ABC owned by Disney?

My wife and I love Last Man Standing. Our favorite Friday night Tv show. With added guest Jay Leno the mechanic made it even funnier. One liners and jabs at left is harmless. Great cast and in my old backyard of Colorado. Mike Baxter conservative views rubbed off on his favorite daughter (haha) His older daughter and boyfriend are liberals and their other daughter could care less about politics and probably doesn’t know who the president is. Mike’s wife leans left but takes it all in stride. Great cast and writing. Laughs and family fun viewing for all.
Bring it back . Netflix would be great venue since they have all shows from start of season 1 thru 6. 8 million viewers can’t be wrong.
