Calling Americans’ increased pay and company bonuses “crumbs” (and “armageddon”) wasn’t working out so well for Pelosi and the Dems.. so now she calls President Trump’s tax cuts “B.S.”

Meanwhile, Rep. Steny Hoyer announced that Democrats will look to raise taxes when they are “back in power.

Keep talking, Dems. Keep talking…

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi apparently has a new catchphrase for the GOP tax cuts: “BS.”

Pelosi railed against the Republicans’ “tax scam” at her weekly press conference Thursday.

“The Republicans were saying ‘oh it will pay for itself,’ we know that it doesn’t, just ask Bruce Bartlett, anyone who says that these tax cuts pay for themselves — it’s not true, it’s nonsense, and it’s BS”.

Pelosi has repeatedly referred to workers’ bonuses from the tax cuts as “crumbs.”

“There’s a little mouse trap who’s got a little piece of cheese on there and there’s a mouse about to take it and that’s called the middle class,” she said in January….

There are numerous articles on does the Trump tax cut pay for itself. The usual suspects media say no. However, IBD has an editorial based on CBO report that the extra economic growth from the tax cuts and resultant positive outlook has increased GDP by $6 trillion. Meaning that the tax cuts are substantially being paid for by the economic growth.

If Pelosi believes that the specific tax cut is BS. Then there is an implication that it was too small. How much larger would Nancy like to make it?

Reference to Bruce Bartlett is interesting. For Nancy’s purposes, the reference is correct in that he is a Keynesian who has praised Paul Krugman. Bartlett is an economist who worked for Reagan and Bush 41. He is very critical of Bush 43 who he blames for the 2008 recession and for expanding gov’t subsidized health care instead of trying to address the problems. In 2009 he wrote, “Until conservatives once again hold Republicans to the same standard they hold Democrats, they will have no credibility and deserve no respect. They can start building some by admitting to themselves that Bush caused many of the problems they are protesting.”

Another issue: Why are the Republicans silent about the tax cuts? Crickets? Or are they so furious over Trump that they will do nothing to help him?
