Judge Halts Mississippi Pardons
by Pat_S on January 12, 2012The Mississippi Attorney General asked for and won an injunction against 21 of the 200 outgoing Gov. Barbour pardons. The AG argued some of the pardons failed to meet the state requirement for a public notice when an inmate requests a pardon. Many, including the infamous four murderers, have already been released. No doubt the huge outcry over some of these pardons prompted the AG, Jim Hood, a Democrat, to take action. He likened Gov. Barbour to Boss Hogg saying he acted as though he was above the law. Attorney general: Barbour tried to rule the state like Boss Hogg “He’s tried to rule the state like Boss Hogg and he didn’t think the law applied to him,” Attorney General...

HuffPo Finds Evidence Occupests May Be Leftists
by Pat_S on October 6, 2011Move over Sherlock Holmes. After ingenious analysis HuffPo theorizes the Occupy Wall Street protests may be composed of activists on the Left. Occupy Wall Street Map: Where Are The Most Popular Facebook Groups? The Huffington Post analyzed the state of activism on Facebook in response to the Occupy Wall Street protests. Over 450,000 Facebook users have joined Facebook pages related to the protests so far. The main Occupy Wall Street page not surprisingly is the largest page with over 125,000 likes. The next largest pages are based in the progressive strongholds of L.A., Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Portland. The smaller size of the activity in Republican regions bolsters the idea that these groups are largely composed of activists on the...

The Storm Within The Calm
by Pat_S on August 29, 2011I really don’t disparage the earnest, bordering on zealous, warnings and preparation swirling around hurricane Irene. The potential destruction resulting from a massive storm traveling up the densely populated East Coast was nothing to take lightly. Thankfully the storm wasn’t as catastrophic as it could have been. Nevertheless, lives have been lost, people remain in dangerous situations, clean-up will be hard work and costly. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who have been affected. There will always be idiots who get themselves in trouble for having no common sense. Listening to the news you would think it has come to pass that Americans generally do not know when to come in out of the rain. Post-Katrina, no politician...

Smug Ed Schultz Forced to Admit Huge Blunder About News Corp.
by Tammy on July 15, 2011Over at Newsbusters you can see the degree to which NBC/MSNBC will go in furthering the White House’s War on Fox News. Their post is excellent and highlights what happens when you see only what you want to see. After running a breathless segment on how News Corp is profiting from tax refunds, they found out the truth was, uh, the opposite. Here’s the less-smug Schultz correction, but follow this link for the whole story: We’d like to make a correction. Last night we told you News Corp. received $4.8 billion in tax refunds over four years, 2007 through 2010. The information from a Reuters article by David Cay Johnson was inaccurate. News Corp. actually paid $4.8 billion in taxes...
