Iran’s Ahmadinejad: America’s New Pen Pal

He even has some advice for the new Democrat majority in Congress: Bend to the Muslim agenda, or you will be tossed out of power…Citing from the Quran at the close of his letter, he says that if Americans “repent” of their “injustice,” they will be blessed with many gifts. “We should all heed the divine Word of the Holy Qur’an,” he says.

The context of this particular verse (28:67-28, Sura “Al-Qasas,” or The Narration), is very clear. It follows a graphic description of destruction and devastation that will befall those who fail to repent of their injustice.

It also sets out the terms of the tradition Muslim warning to the enemies of Allah. “And never will your Lord destroy the towns until He sends to their mother town a Messenger reciting to them Our Verses.” This is is precisely what Ahmadinejad is doing in his letter.

Dump Bush, allow the Muslims to destroy Israel, and adopt Islam — or else you will be destroyed. This is Ahmadinejad’s message.

People get brazen when you give them legitimacy as the Iraqi leader and apparently Jim Baker want to do with Ahmadinejad . The Bush administration is melting down, appeasing and becoming conciliatory. I guess that’s what they thought people voted for when they voted Dem.

I honestly wonder if the course of history has taken a terrible turn because George W. Bush cannot speak. His decisions were bold and, I believe, correct in taking the fight to the enemy. He was correct in thinking the governments of the Middle East must change for any hope to neutralize the vile toxins that brew there. Bold decisions based on strong ideas need the power of words. I believe when doubts first set in the American people were ready, even longing, to rally. At that time, instead of hearing, “eh…, uh…, umm…, it’s hard work”, imagining hearing a competently delivered, inspirational oration. Something like this:

“I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears, and sweat. We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many months of struggle and suffering.

You ask, what is our policy? I say it is to wage war by land, sea, and air. War with all our might and with all the strength God has given us, and to wage war against a monstrous tyranny never surpassed in the dark and lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy.

You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs – Victory in spite of all terrors – Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival. Let that be realized. No survival for the British Empire, no survival for all that the British Empire has stood for, no survival for the urge, the impulse of the ages, that mankind shall move forward toward his goal.

I take up my task in buoyancy and hope. I feel sure that our cause will not be suffered to fail among men. I feel entitled at this juncture, at this time, to claim the aid of all and to say, ‘Come then, let us go forward together with our united strength’.”

Ahmadinejad aspires to nuke Israel and possibly the US. Sure, he’ll bring military reprisals against Iran, but they’ll be minor, since we’re so fanatical about protecting the civilian population, and the Europeans will demand we not damage the Iranian infrastructure out of fear of interrupting the oil flow. So Iran will “lose” and get a new government (which will reflect the same monstrous characteristics of the old government), and Israel will be destroyed, and the Iranians will be the heroes of the Muslim world. And Europe will say tsk, tsk, tsk, it’s a shame, but those pesky Jews brought it on themselves.

That’s Ahmadinejad’s fantasy, anyway. And if we don’t want it to become a reality, we’ll have to handle things very differently from the way we’ve been doing it.

By the way, if I were Israel, I’d let it quietly be known to the European bigwigs that the national reaction to a major attack against Israel would be to nuke all the oilfields of the Persian Gulf. That’s the only thing the Europeans care about, so they need to believe that the destruction of Israel is also going to cut off their oil. If they get that message, they’ll be a lot less supportive of the would-be perpetrators of genocide. (This won’t work with Russia, of course, which is an oil exporter. But it will do wonders in the West.)
