I see USA Today‘s above-the-fold headline reads: “American Muslims Reject Extremes“. The article, credited to Haya El Nasser, is based on a poll by the Pew Research Center, which is described in Wikipedia as “conservative”. Here is the report on which the article is based. The USA Today story opens with this summary:

The USA’s estimated 2.4 million Muslims hold more moderate political views than Muslims elsewhere in the world and are mostly middle class and willing to adopt the American way of life, according to one of the most comprehensive surveys of this segment of the nation’s population.

Is this good news? That’s hard to say. Note the careful relativistic phrasing: American Muslims are “more moderate…than Muslims elsewhere in the world”. That sounds nice, but it doesn’t mean a thing. It’s like saying that so-and-so is more moderate than Adolf Hitler. This could describe both Mother Theresa and Benito Mussolini.

Meanwhile, FOXNews reports on the very same poll with a very different headline: “1 in 4 U.S. Young Muslims OK With Homicide Bombings Against Civilians“. This article is not entirely bleak, but it doesn’t sugarcoat the dark side.

From the Pew Research report:

Consistent with the views of Muslims in other countries, fewer than half of Muslim Americans — regardless of their age — accept the fact that groups of Arabs carried out the 9/11 attacks. Just four-in-10 say that groups of Arabs engineered the attacks. Roughly a third (32%) expresses no opinion as to who was behind the attacks, while 28% flatly disbelieve that Arabs conducted the attacks.

Highly religious Muslim Americans are less likely to believe that groups of Arabs carried out the 9/11 attacks than are less religious Muslims. In addition, the survey finds that those who say that suicide bombings in defense of Islam can be often or sometimes justified are more disbelieving than others that Arabs carried out the Sept. 11 attacks.

This is enough to make a rational person wonder whether these Muslims come from a Twilight Zone-type alternate reality; perhaps the same mad universe that Rosie O’Donnell hails from.

So, among the 2.4 million Muslims in the U.S., 26 percent of the “younger Muslims” (the age demographic that exclusively commits all acts of terrorism to “defend Islam”) are perfectly okay with murder, death and destruction in the name of their religion. AND these Muslims have “more moderate political views than Muslims elsewhere in the world.” Hmmmm….interesting. Let’s see…the Council on American-Islamic Relations (ironically, “CAIR”) has estimated that there are 1.2 billion Muslims in the world. So, if we assume half of them are “younger” (600 million), doesn’t this mean that an estimated 150 million of them are likely at least “okay” with acts of terror? But wait a minute! If Muslims outside the U.S. are less “moderate” in their views, doesn’t that mean…well, uh….ummm…

…explain to me how this is supposed to be good news?

This is the stuff that makes it scary, these muslims don’t live in the middle east or crapistan, they live right here in the US of A. It’s not like they are living under suppresion of the media or of speech like their past country. Not like they are told how and what to think, like their past fatherland. This is just another example of how screwed up our immigration policies are. Just like you have the mexicans who show where their loyalty lies, waving the mexican flags, speaking and demanding everyone else to speak mexican, that roam around this country unchallanged from the law. These muslims show their loyalty to the krapistan place the came from, just like the mexicans.
