Tammy and Emma!

Tammy Bruce, Emma Peel, Emma Peel
(Not necessarily in that order)

Those of us who were exposed to Emma Peel during our formative years have been haunted ever since. Tammy knows this and so do I. Some of you boys and girls may have been there too…

‘Nuff said!

I thought/think the show was great. But I was past my formative years when it played. Too bad it only ran a few years.

  2. KatieSilverSpring says:

and, that photo of Mrs Peel on the right makes me all the more convinced Snoopy-Snarky should have been named Emma. Sorry, I think of the little kittie every time I see Emma Peel’s photo.

  3. I bet your gun is bigger than hers is 😉

  4. Miss Kathy says:

Now that you mention it. . . there is quite a resemblance there. I was pretty young when the show ran, but I always wanted to be Emma Peel. I think I would still like to be Emma Peel.

  5. Horatio says:

I loved that show – was a teenager when it was on. Fell in love with Mrs. Peel, and lust with Tara King. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I saw the early shows with Honor Blackman as Cathy Gale!

When my daughter got a kitten 10 years ago we named her Emma Peel!

  6. George Atkisson says:

Tammy and Emma Peel in the same photo. New wallpaper. Sigh.

Absolutely LOVED the show. I was in college when it ran during it’s most popular years. I was glued to the TV when Emma was on. I remember, distinctly, one reviewer saying about Diana Rigg: “…she’s so gorgeous your teeth hurt”. So very true. Yes, Maynard, the resemblance to Tammy is remarkable. You need to see that Tammy gets a leather outfit like Diana’s on the left picture, including the shoes. AND she needs to get her hair done in that beautiful “60s” flip. Awesome post, Maynard. GOOD memories. Those were the days. Nice to know we have a modern-day Emma Peel in Tammy. You go, girl! Lock and load…

I had the distinct good fortune enough to see the great Dame Diana Rigg in a performance of “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” in London a few years ago, and she’s still as stunning a presence as ever.

And as others have said, the resemblance is uncanny.

  9. Tirian says:

ya know, I think Emma Peel is who the “Chick w/ a gun and a microphone” pic reminded me of subconsciously. A Chick in leather with a gun and a microphone. Again, as Maynard wrote ”Nuff said!’ Yeah.

I will admit that I was not alive when the show when it first ran. My first exposure to Diana Rigg was from when she took over for Vincent Price as host of “Mystery”. However, I have seen the reruns and love “The Avengers” and do have a thing for Diana Rigg from her role as Emma Peel as well as Helena from “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. (Even if she’s old enough to be my mother…a mother who got a late start). With that all being said, I truly adore Diana Rigg….and Tammy. 🙂

  11. girlsgotrhythm says:

Absolutely! I’ve always wanted to be just like Emma Peel and also 99 from “Get Smart”. I thought both were amazingly cool chicks!! Tammy, the chick with a gun and a microphone is carrying on the fine tradition of coolness very well.

  12. Floyd R. Turbo says:

C’mon Maynard, get her the outfit, the hairdo and take some pics!

  13. Michelvis says:

Tammy you’ve seen “Tipping the Velvet” right?
Did you know the cute brunette is Diana Rigg’s real life daughter? (as opposed to fake life)

a little FYI I thought you’d like to know. I sure hope you see this…and wow do we have the same taste in women. In addition to “7 of 9” I kinda had the hots for Capt. Janeway! The rest of your choices are right on AND you like ABFab and Vodka martinis….stop teasing me! ;-D

  14. Skylark says:

You definitely look like Emma Peel. I grew up watching that show; so many of us wanted to be Emma Peel. Thanks for the blast from the past!
