Note to all women who think you may be bi- or homosexual: Do not be afraid. Despite the message “The View” spews daily, first with Rosie and now with Whoopi, you can be gay and have some dignity and class at the same time.

Whoopi Goldberg: Pelosi Admirer Extraordinaire

…Even before Pelosi walked on stage to take her seat at the round table, the show’s moderator, Whoopi Goldberg, and its co-hosts – with former news anchor Barbara Walters leading the pack – started flirting with the speaker’s husband, Paul, who was seated in the front row…Trying to shout over Whoopi and her other gabbing co-hosts and excited audience members, Barbara turned to Guest Pelosi and said she has heard Whoopi say before that she’d “do Paul Newman.”

“And I think she’d like to do your husband as well,” Walters deadpanned in that quintessential accent that made her the subject of late-night lampooning over the decades.

Of course, Whoopi being Whoopi, she couldn’t let that one go, which is where the speaker begins blushing. Yes, Whoopi implicitly acknowledged, she’d like to do Mr. Pelosi – but she might take his wife while she’s at it. “I would do her as well. But we should wait on that because you’re still in office, I don’t want to cause a problem.”

You can see the entire juvenile exchange here. And if Barbara isn’t careful, she’s going to start sounding like Rosie did on her first talk show whenever she fawned over Tom Cruise. There is a point where it all begins to sound just a little bit ridiculous.

You are evidence of the fact that one can be gay, classy, and dignified at the same time. Thank you for your example.

If Pelosi had even a shred of decency, she would have got up and left…

Why did Barbara create that situation? Rhetorical question. As I said some months ago with the Donald-Rosie-Miss USA-Barbara escapade, I am losing more respect for Barbara. At her age now, she needs to consider what she wants her legacy to be. I will not remember her now as a several-decades reporter/journalist interviewing heads-of-state and celebrities on a news magazine.

Can you imagine how this would have played out if the exact same thing had happened but it was a panel of men interviewing a powerful male politician, with the politician’s wife right there in the front row, the camera on her, as the men all gabbed about how they wanted to do her????!!!!

The shameless, brain-dead fawning over Pelosi curdled the contents of my stomach. Even Pelosi seemed uncomfortable with this brazen obsequiousness.

My friends who are gay, including my own son, are like you Tammy, regular people…I find the ‘Hollywood types’ most offensive…what is so interesting to me is that the public looks to the people in the entertainment industry as super minds…these are people who read words other people have written and pretend they are someone who is a figment of the writers imagination…prime example, Sean Penn…for Barbara Walters and Whoopi Goldberg to act that way with a U.S. Senator is also beyond belief…no matter who they are…

Plus, I thought Whoopi would have better taste in women than that….

I think I may have said it here before, but the whole world gets its image of America from Hollywood. Or Washington, DC. No wonder the world looks at “US” with such disgust. The world doesn’t know what we know, that Hollywood is NOT reality. Not hardly. For that matter, neither is Washington, DC, evidenced by our wonderful Congress! HA!

I echo Helpunderdog’s comment and will add that perhaps both Pelosi’s should file sexual harassment suits. The View would have been the loudest in criticizing a male-dominated show for treating a female guest this way.

Having Barbara & Whoopi announce who Whoopi would engage with should be considered a physical threat, too, with plenty of mental anguish to suffer through.

What is also interesting/disturbing is the level of disrespect Pelosi’s own supporters on The View have for her – and these women like Pelosi!

    Truly classless and uncalled for.

I saw that and just shook my head. Tammy, regardless of whether someone is gay straight bi or tri even, human behavior never will cease to amaze me. Carry on Whoopi, you are making Rosie proud. UGH

Please stop! Some of us are kinesthetic learners, some are aural and SOME of us are visual learners. Please! No more. I can’t get the images out of my head.
